I am also impressed by Drupal’s Theme Garden.

Theme Garden is nice (if a little busy), but remember that everything there is in a single category so they all have the same essential features.

What I like about the WP page is that the items to download are a varied as the things in the MODx Repository, but the essential stuff you want to know is organized on those simple tabs and easy to find.

That’s true, the main purpose on there is to show the design I guess, however, the principle is nice either way and could also be use in a different way.

Well... despite the apparent enthusiasm,  all these internal links [from pages within the site] don’t work. If I see the Oops! 404 page once more I’ll scream.

Seems like the already troubled documentation may be suffering from the transition. There are some pages that seem to be missing and a few that are lost since they are not where you expected to find them.

^ At the risk of being as popular as Banquo’s ghost, if you do go to the ditto link above, [thanks] guess what, no images show, and sure enough those links don’t work from there either. The vertical menu at least seems to work, but I noted someone in this thread commented how this site could be a sales tool. Well if I delivered a site with this level of disconnect I could hear my profit margin galloping away.

There will be hiccups, and we appreciate your reporting them when found. As far as seeing profits fall, it already costs us money to run the project, so profiting directly from the site isn’t our goal.

Let me add to traveller_ted’s point by saying that if you do a site search for "ditto" most of the links it turns up are dead. I had a very hard time finding the Ditto parameters that way.

^ Thanks Bob, I’m not wishing to belabour the point, but my ’profits’ line was an attempt to politely point out that presently the site is unable to provide effective support to those of us who use MODx upon occasion, and had anticipated that reference would be available by this interweb thingy. It also proves the ancient ’Law of Sod’ that a MODx client requires a set of urgent updates utilising ditto functionality, amongst others,.... now

I do appreciate deployment can be tricky, and did also report via the feedback element on the site, where I was advised, by email, that the transition from the old site’s flat urls to the new environment ’has made redirects a challenge’.

I’m sure due focus is being placed upon this, and look forward to seeing the site’s usability return, and hopefully exceed its prior incarnation.
