    Hi,

I have moved a Revolution site from a testing domain on one server to the real domain on the clients server, these are the steps I have taken:

    • Moved all files from testing server to local machine
    • Exported the Database as SQL file
    • Changed the values in the core/config/config.inc.php. file to point the new correct paths
    • Exported the Database as SQL file
    • Updated the following files with the /core/ directory path
      - /config.core.php
      - /connectors/config.core.php
      - /manager/config.core.php
    • Created new database on new server, added new database connection details to core/config/config.inc.php. and imported database from file
    • copied files to new server
    • Updated the new database path in the workspaces table
    • Updated the .htaccess file with the new domain name in the rewrite mod

When I try to view any page including the manager I get a 500 Error, site currently unavailable. The domain is www.harrowhc.co.uk

    Any advice welcome.

Did you run Setup at the new site (don't proceed if the "Upgrade" checkbox is not checked)?

That should straighten out the paths for you.

Check the paths and URLs in config.inc.php if there is still trouble.

Sometimes you also need to delete all files in the core/cache directory and clear you browser cache and cookies.

        Hi BobRay,

I cannot run Setup, I still get the 500 Error. The paths in the config.inc.php looks correct.

I have deleted all files in the cache directory, cleared browser cache with no joy.

        Is there something I've missed?

Sounds like a bad .htaccess file. Does your local server have mod_rewrite enabled?

Yes it does. Is it worth mentioning that I re-name the .htaccess file (which has at least helped me to determine if that's where a problem lies before now) he problem doesn't go away.

Actually saying that, I'm not sure. How can I check if it does have it enabled or not?

I've checked and I'm pretty sure it does support it.

Sometimes clearing the sessions table helps.

Also are the permissions correct on the directories?

Could also be bad file permissions. I've especially run across this if the server requires 755-644 and gets anything 777.

I've checked the permissions and they're all set to either 755 or 644.

                      Any other ideas?
