Just reading through the Modx Evo vs Revo conversations and am still unsure which would best suit my site. As I have 700+ pages at present and add more daily, I want to eventually have quite a large site, but I'm worried that Evo won't perform as well. Can anyone shed a little light on it?

Its a decision that you have to make yourself
Evo is now community maintained - the guys doing the work are doing a great job, but there is no guarantee that they will continue to develop it in the long term.
Revo is also coming to an end, opening up towards a new and improved MODX 3, but who knows when that will be available.
According to MODX LLC, you should, if you want to use MODX, use Revo, as further down the line an upgrade path will be provided from Revo to the new version, whereas, Evo probably won't have an upgrade path.
I personaly am starting to look into Revo and finding the learning curve somewhat steep, but am getting there, very slowly.
I still run multiple sites with Evo and they are fast, even though one of them uses 2800 id's - ID's in this case are used as full pages, so realy, 2800 pages created on the fly by Evo - lots cached, others not.
Site cache is at approx. 540kb
I also have over 20,000 hard coded pages that use the MODX Api

Everything seems to point me towards Revo as the future of my site should house thousands of pages. I think I am just procrastinating as I know I have to change a lot of code, and Evo was a code I became comfortable with.

I think looking ahead that this makes a great deciding point too. I know Bobray has done an idiots guide to the main code changes for Revo and I am basically planning to rebuild a brand new site to replace my old, out-dated one. So maybe Revo is the way to go
thanks for your comments

@ 700 pages, I would sit down and simply do the monoton "copy and paste" ritual, into the new system
If you have thousands of pages, that's a different ball game altogether, especialy when each page uses tons of info from TV's etc.
I think, using provisioner to import your datas (resources, chunks, templates) (and convert MODX-tags to revo) should still work.
Do not import plugins and snippets!
You will of couse need to replace some snippets and custom-extras with others.
Ok thanks. I will cut and paste a large majority of it, that way I can be confident I am not missing anything, but all CSS will be restyled. It's a daunting task but I am actually looking forward to it!

@Bruno17
Does provisioner still work with the latest version(s) of Revo, without any problems ?
Last time, I converted, I think it was allready a 2.2.x and it was working.
May be I will convert another one within the next few weeks.
Then I can say more about the current situation.
@ Bruno17
Thanks for the feedback - I am still looking into the fundamentals of Revo - so a conversion of a couple of my larger sites will take place in the near future, so Provisioner would come in handy if it still works
If not, I presume there is the possibility to download an older version of Revo - use provisioner, then update Revo to the latest version - a form of long winded workaround
