A fully featured reservation system is simply something you would have to hire a professional developer to build just for your uses. I don't know if something that robust is available with any CMS system. Personally I use EventsCalendar2 for events and registration. I have tried mxCalendar but not ChurchEvents. I just posted my opinion on EV2 here:
https://forums.modx.com/thread/75990/best-calendar-options-for-modx-revo?page=3#dis-post-453870
I still don't fully have your scope, but based on what you're saying I would do something like this:
I would scrap the idea of using a calendar add-on completely. Why do you need it? Just for a visual aid? Just doesn't seem best suited for that. The calendars are more for social occasions.
I would custom build a chart in html/css to represent a month. Could be simple or fancy as you like it. Your chart would have 31 days and adjust days as needed. Create classes for your colors and use background-color property. Then build yourself 31 template variables as text boxes. Set a default output of your green class. I would make a full month chart, up to you, and put it on one page. You'd have all 31 TVs on that resource. After someone books a day all you have to do is login and change the word in the checkbox for each day taken.
i.e.
<div class="[[*dayOneColor]]"></div>
TV
Classes:
.grn{background: green} .red{background: red} .org{background: orange}
I'm sure you know classes that's just for clarity. It might seem a little tedious but actually wouldn't be hard to build or upkeep even for several locations. You could probably use TV check boxes as well to save typing but then you'd have more of them. Shoot just make the classes a single letter. g, o, r. Not exactly best practice but whatever works and saves you some time. You could use some nice CSS3 to style it all, or even use images for the days if you wanted. Either with text TVs or checkboxes. Or actually....radio buttons would be your best bet, now that I think of it. Hah! There you go use 31 radio buttons with 3 options for the classes defaulted to green.
That work for you?
