Ouch; that must be a killer in web design. One nice feature of CodeMirror is that it comes with a number of different "skins", plus it's easy enough to modify the color coding used if none of them suit.

You know I covered it for 12 years, and not one person twigged I was using the dropper in Photoshop to wing it, I became an expert at avoiding the subject...whilst I worked for other people I mean. How do you change your avatar by the way?

They may have a colourblindness skin in that case, red black blue purple and shades of grey are perfectly obvious to me, I stopped playing BF2 because all my team mates kept complaining when I inadvertently shot them.

Please send me the link to the funky password generator if you can, i'm running out of imagination these days when I used to remember dozens. How do you keep a record of them or is that top secret?

I keep a folder in my desktop, with a .txt file for every site or program that needs a password or key of some kind. I also have the same thing on a small USB key that I update regularly. Perhaps not the most secure method; if I were doing anything important I'd probably put it all in one file and encrypt the file.

Sometimes you have to fudge these a bit, for example MySQL doesn't like passwords with some non-alphanumeric characters. Revo is also a bit picky about non-alphanumeric characters.

ta, I used to just use caps and lower case and numbers and keep them all in my head as the safest place, but as i'm increasingly senile and the climate is now so much fiercer a new technique may well be in order. I'm stopping using Excel and moving over to Google for the non sensitive stuff aswell, since some awful trojan wiped one of my drives yesterday and I lost a spreadsheet in the process. Have you seen that 'Conduit' Hijack? I was trying to clean that off a pc and 630gb of data somehow mysteriously vanished in the space of five minutes leaving a completely bare drive, how did that happen? I mean I say it was a trojan because that springs to mind, I just can't figure it out. It all disappeared in a trice leaving a perfectly working but empty drive, not even the one I was working on. Astonishing and spooky....
