Media Sources (2.2.0-pl2) Unable to select Policy (no list) when adding User Group

You'll have to copy all files according to http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Upgrading+MODx

And then rerun setup

I should not need to copy all files, I'm re-running setup on the same version and same database and same server, it's not an upgrade process...I may just wait for 2.2.1...#modx upgrades etc. are such a chore hours and hours so it seems anyway

I had the same problem. On my install, policies templates were not well created. I installed another 2.2pl2 to compare.


Make sure you have a policy template called MediaSourceTemplate from MediaSource group template with 7 rights.
Then, on access policies tab, make sure you have at least one policy with MediaSourceTemplate.

Hope this helps... Don't know why my first install failed :/

I had the same issue when upgrading to 2.2.1-pl and your steps solved it.

Same issue here with 2.2.4-pl

Have tried flushing, resetting browser (safari 5.1.7 and Chrome 19.0.1084.56)

Still getting this on 2.2.5 - currently I'm importing media source policies from an old but stable (2.2.4) install to get round it.

Those of you still reporting this, did you check to make sure the MediaSourceTemplate exists and at least one Policy for it exists in your installation?

I found out the problem. For some reason the "Media Source Admin" didn't have any active permissions set. "Active permissions" tab showed nothing, completely empty. My solution was to export a working access policy from another installation and import/re-create my "Media Source Admin" policy. After that I cleared the site cache and after that I was able to set the policy.
