You know, this is almost behaving as if it were a "temporary" URL, that you use before the DNS records are available across the ’net.

Ok, it’s not liking the:
$base_path = ’/home/unionky911/public_html/’;
Not sure where that is supposed to be pointing to....any ideas?
Try running this from any page:
base_url:[(base_url)]<br/>
site_url:[(site_url)]<br/>
base_path:[(base_path)]
Then, come post the results so we may better know what we’re dealing with here.
This way you can know what your paths are and exactly what to remove, if possible.
I Just spoke to Network Solutions and they informed me that the "PHP_SELF" reference on line 18 of config.inc.php needs to be changed to "REQUEST_URI" (yes, that’s "uri")- I just tried it and it worked. Unfortunately, I’m getting 401 errors for every page now.
Here is the output:
base_url:/~1136687.1207121/htdocs/
site_url:
http://www.unionky911.org/~1136687.1207121/htdocs/
base_path:/data/12/1/136/35/1136687/user/1207121/htdocs/
You can view it directly also at:

Anxiously awaiting getting this resolved.....

Error 401: Unauthorized means; the client does not have the required privileges to access the site.
I believe I read somewhere that REQUEST_URI is not available for IIS (Windows)? I have NO IDEA if this is anyway accurate, etc, as I’m an avid Linux/Apache user!
@ej,
Try this:
$base_url = ’/’;
$site_url = ’http://www.unionky911.org/’;
$base_path = ’/data/12/1/136/35/1136687/user/1207121/htdocs/’; // Not sure base_path is troublesome, may want to leave alone for now
@pixel:
That fixed it! Not sure what else is going on yet, but will give the full site a workover to make sure everything else is working.
Thanks a ton!

You’re welcome! And thanks to @sottwell for digging into the code-base and finding line # references for us
Hi, Any idea what could be causing the 401 error? Of course, the site worked perfect before they did the update. I used the REQUEST_URI thing and the site links are now correct. However every link besides the homepage generates the 401. I have friendly URLs turned on.
Network solutiosn is "looking into it" but they have a 1-3 day turnaround, which won’t sit well with my client. IS there anything I can do to clear up this permission issue?

I’d recommend utilizing the solution ej used. This can be done by following the same steps: Run the code provided a few posts up, post the results (if needed), and replace the troublesome path data.
REQUEST_URI might be a solution as well, but end result is that the paths are wrong and need to be updated to something we know will work.

Try adding this line to your .htaccess file:
Options +FollowSymlinks
Put it before the RewriteEngine On line.
