    Hi there Im using modx evo 1.0.4
    Have been using wayfinder with several sites, but now need one where I can have more than one parent> child

    IE
    products> (drop down to) main products (slide out) to seperate products.

    My call to wayfinder looks like this.

       <div id="ajaxmenu"> [[Wayfinder?startId=`0`&outerTpl=`mh.OuterTpl` &innerTpl=`mh.InnerTpl` &rowTpl=`mh.RowTpl` &innerRowTpl=`mh.InnerRowTpl` &firstClass=`first` &hereClass=``]] </div>

    Ive never had to edit this before, only the css so am a little stuck.
    thanks

      I would normally (in terms of templating in MODX, including menus) first create it static or hardcoded if you will so you have the right HTML and CSS.

      Then make Wayfinder output the HTML markup you need, using those templating chunks.

      There's a bunch of examples you can find in the Docs: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Wayfinder+Introductory+Examples

        If I am understanding what you are asking it is not about the wayfinder call

        I think you are asking about having a child have more than one parent in the menu.

        This is easy to do using symlinks, just create a symlink to the child and put under the appropriate second (or third etc) parent in the document tree - the child will then appear in multiple places in the menu system.

          Thanks for that - I may need to use that later on but what I need is to understand how to get the second level menu items to show.
          Have attached a screen shot below, which hopefully will explain it better than I can.

          I have now added the parentRow call to my wayfinder call as it wasnt there.
          so it now looks like this
             <div id="ajaxmenu">
          [[Wayfinder?startId=`0`&outerTpl=`mh.OuterTpl` &innerTpl=`mh.InnerTpl` &rowTpl=`mh.RowTpl`  &parentRowTpl=`mh.ParentRow` &innerRowTpl=`mh.InnerRowTpl`   &firstClass=`first` &hereClass=``  ]]</div>

          What im not sure of is: is this the correct way to do this, and is it only my css that is preventing me from seeing it?

            1st - are you really using Evo because your call looks like Revolution syntax.

            is it only my css that is preventing me from seeing it?
            check the code produced by the wayfinder call - if you have a nested list structure with all your links then your css it at fault; no nested list, then probably your wayfinder call is at fault

              That syntax would actually both work for Evo & Revo. You can only see the difference for snippets when using it uncached, where Evo would use [!Wayfinder!] and Revo would use [[!Wayfinder]].

              Your parentRow chunk should definitely *not* contain another wayfinder call, but instead use [[+wf.wrapper]] (or [+wf.wrapper+] in Evo) to output what should be underneath.

              Your image still doesn't tell me what you're trying to do and what it is doing instead... ie, I have no idea what the problem your facing is.

                thanks, the image I attached is of the current non modx live site, I am updating the design and layout and bringing into modx- on the modx site I am only seeing gallery under videos and galleries and not the other pages off gallery- for now I just added one extra page under gallery.
                this is the ParentRow chunk
                <li[+wf.classes+]><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]">[+wf.linktext+]</a> [+wf.wrapper+] </li>

                this is what it outputs at the moment
                <div id="ajaxmenu">

                    That's outputting three levels in the markup, so you need to make sure your CSS / JS is set up right to handle the output that is being generated by Wayfinder.

                    Or make Wayfinder output the HTML you need by modifing the different chunks you can update. http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Wayfinder#Wayfinder-TemplateParameters

                      I can see my 3 level in the page sourec but not on screen.

                      Done some more research and I think it may be the ajaxmenu thats the issue, someone else was working with this and found out it can only go to 2 levels deep- which is very disappointing if true.
