Zap, Yes, the error page exists and it is published.

Try taking a look at your server logs, scanning for log entries at the same time as the MODx log entries. I found an amazing number of broken image links when I did that, although that wasn’t what was causing my MODx log entry loading, it was good to know.

I ran Xenu Link Sleuth and found NO URLs to be broken. I am sure this must be something else.

You don’t necessarily have to have broken links. That is why I suggested looking at your raw server logs, searching for the same time as the MODx event log entries.

Did check my server logs. Nothing suspicious.

Today morning I had about 26100 Parser errors "Too Many Forward requests."

I guess this is a serious issue. Has anyone been able to trace the cause for this. I had no such errors using 0.9.2.

              regards,

How can we "trace the cause" when we don’t know what you are running in your installation. Some addon resource is doing this.

Delete (yes remove completely!) the template switcher plugin included with 0.9.5, and clear your event log.

Ryan, I only have TinyMCE installed. I never installed template switcher plugin. I did disable TinyMCE for a day, but had the errors the next morning.

Doze, I have no modules installed. Even QuickEdit is disabled.

I do have a few snippets running, but all have been upgraded to run on 0.9.5. I never had the "Too many forward requests." error with 0.9.2.

What exactly is meant by "Too many forward requests." and what events could trigger this error. Maybe that will help me zero in on any particular snippet/functionality.

Hope the above provided information helps the experts in tracing the issue. I appreciate all the support.

                    best regards,
                    -Raavi

As I understand it, that error occurs when - for one reason or another - MODx gets caught in a cycle of trying to forward to your error page and that page either does not exist, is not published, or the database does not respond promptly.

The error handling and logging functions are being completely rewritten for 0.97, so this issue will not be relevant at that point. In the meantime there are a few people who have experienced a real problem with this issue (although for most people it never occurs). Some things to check in order to resolve it:

                      • Is your error page set, and is it published and functional?
                      • Do you have the template switcher plugin instaled and active (disable or uninstall it)?
                      • Are you running any other snippets, plugins, or TVs that involve forwarding (and might be broken or looping)?
                      • Is your database connection reliable (slow or failed responses may cause this loop)?
                      • Have your site cache files become corrupted?

There are probably other possible causes, but these are the ones I recall seeing in the forums so far...
