This is a new feature and the reason you get that message is to prevent an infinite loop.

Yes ... that what it look’s like...
but If I received at least (10 messages/pages)x (50 pages) ... I’m not sure the infinite loop is right blocked undecided
(not sure of the 10 messages / page)(not sure there is no more than 50 pages)

And as I don’t know how the history log works, I can’t say why and how it stopped...
    * log full ?
    * visitors hang up ?
    * server killed the process on time out ?
    * history cleaned after 50 pages ?

I could try to make it appear... as soon as I’m sure I solved it...
If it is solved, I will only need to point "unauthorized page" toward a non existing page...
and as I don’t know how the process is launched... but it appears on morning I will wait ’till next morning
So I could post a new bug in 3 days... not before

It would still be looping if that code wasn’t in place; each report of it means the loop is ending because the process forwarded 3 times, which is plenty of forwards. I imagine it’s something in the manager backend that is not being found and is being looked for a lot, but I’ll see if we can’t reproduce and fix it this morning.

        Hello

Just to say ... i don’t understand huh huh huh

The history is still full of MODx Parse Error/"Too many forward attempt"
All my error pages and unauthorised page are filled

It may give you one more clue : i’ve got a pesonalized 404 page (it is a form)- which function well...
for the unauthorised page, i link to the "request an account" given from old samples (but I shouldn’t have any unathorised page)

what else can I tell you ?
yes ... the strane thing :
the message appears not every day ...
the log is full of that message on 20-nov-2006 07:07
it allways appear at 7:07 shocked (I remember last time message appeared right this time)
        but nothing on [21/11 - 23/11]

this time I’ve 52 pages (eatch exactly at 07:07 )
they all have the id = 0
they all have exactly the same message :
        Id événement: 0 Source: Parser

        Date: 20-nov-2006 07:07 Utilisateur:

Do you have server logs for that time? What was being requested?
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

Same problem here. In 5 minutes my system event log filled up from empty to 2262 pages with

              What happened just before:
I added some documents to an existing document group. New site so this was the first time, but I made the document group some days before. No problems then. Then I assigned my secondary admin to this document group. Again, the account existed but hadn’t been assigned groups. Logging in with this account was never any problem. Finally I logged out of the admin account and logged in with the secondary admin. That’s when the sh*t hit the fan.
I do have a web user with identical login/pw as this secondary admin; could that create any problems?
Also, the site still works in IE but in FF it shows above error messages when logged in, and blank pages when logged out.

Site start, error and unauthorized page are all set to ID 1, a page that has always been and is still there.
The site can be found at http://www.tagueuleband.com/
              Help!

UPDATE: Only one page is accessible in FF, and that’s the one page that is not set to Show in menu. For all the other pages there isn’t even any page source, and the blank pages are there always now. After emptying the log, it always fills up to exactly 2262 pages. Why do I see the problem only in FF??

                  Hello

Well ... i was wrong : this is not allways the same time... this morning it began at 7:02 and last until 8:00 ( shocked 94 pages)
And a good news ... I’ve menage to look at old server’s logs...
Before I comment you logs, I can tell you google bot’s finded a lot of 404 errors crawling my site ... all are
                  http://www.parapentiste.info/%5B~184~%5D?SN4526ca3317d68=329d99d1b960e53dd9e6ae25dc01922f

where 184 may change (page id) but [tt]?SN4526ca3317d68=329d99d1b960e53dd9e6ae25dc01922f[/tt] is allways the same
                  so 2 things :
                  * Don’t know where this SN come from
                  * it appears that one page went out whitout having modx->rewriteUrls worked
(third : I’ve tested on this link : my own 404 page works nice)

So for the 20/11 at 7:07 undecided nothing ... nothing from the site ... only forum visite (forum is not handled by modx)

for the 23/11 log’s (around 07:02)... the same thing : only forum activity...
but there is a trick I can’t understand : I emptied all my log yesterday just before I posted the mesage here at 8:55AM (modxcms.com/forums time).
                  Whith my time (+0100) this is : I emptyed the 23/11 at 3:55PM ...
and this morning, I find errors the 23/11 from 7 to 8 AM !
How can I have errors appear from time before I empty my log ?

OK I discovered my problem. (it was 3 o’clock in the morning tonight undecided)
I misunderstood the way Document Groups function: I thought they were used for management permissions (certain editors can edit certain sections of the site), while in fact they’re used for access permissions!

So what I did was set limited access permission to my main/error page. (and some other pages as well)
Hence the problem. Maybe such moves should be disallowed in MODx??

Edit: it took me a while to figure out why then my editors didn’t get the QuickEdit bar when they logged in, but you have to let them Run modules. Problem: this gives them access to the Doc Manager and the Doc Manager does not respect the other permissions this role has been given! It should check permissions and disable the relevant parts, because at the moment my editors have almost complete control (and the ability to f*ck everything up - only I should be able to do that wink)...

Actually, Document Groups are used for both. What effect it will have depends on what User Groups and what Web User Groups a given document group is associated with.

Then disable Document Manager. It’s nice, but not essential. Besides, you can always enable it for yourself if you need it, then disable it again when you are finished.
