For me the file wasn´t messed up while transferring. The 0.92 config.php is the only thing that worked...

Fantastic! I go to bed, and wake up to a solution!

I too have uploaded the config file:

      manager/media/browser/mcpuk/connectors/php/config.php

from the 0.9.2 version (after backing up my 0.9.5 one) and I can now view images.

Thanks for all the help guys.

So...does it work once the carriage returns are fixed?
        Yes, for me it does.
Still I wonder why only this file is damaged, and why it happens every time. I just tried again: uploaded the contents of the 0.9.5 zip file to another folder on my server. The local config file was fine, but the remote file was damaged again. I have no reason to believe any other file was damaged huh
Thanks for MODx - I love it!

That is odd.... So if you fix the carriage returns for the config.php file in 0.9.5 it works, right? If that’s the case then we should be able to fix that very easily by making sure the file is encoded properly. smiley

            What local 0.9.5 config file?

And, is this corrupted by the install process or not?
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

I’m sorry if I’m not very clear... my english, you know... embarrassed
I hope this makes sense to you:
              - I downloaded the MODx 0.9.5. zip and unzipped it on my local computer. I call these the local files from now on.
              - I uploaded the unzipped local files to the server.
              - The local config.php [1] appears fine, but the remote file on my server is damaged. This is before even running the installer.
              - This happens every time I upload this particular file.

However, I noticed if I open the local file in Dreamweaver, save it and upload again, it does not get damaged. So yes, perhaps it’s wrongly encoded and I guess Dreamweaver repairs that.

My fault, didn’t realise you were talking about mcpuk/connectors/php/config.php

Yup, parts of that file have CR & LF, parts just have LF, and the MODx part has just CR. It’s a mess.

i don´t get it to work. With the config file from 0.92 I see my images folder now, but uploading is not possible (the permissions are not set). It is also not possible to create a folder (also permission 000). I also can´t change the permissions via FTP.

@Paul: how can I "repair" that config file, what do I have to do to insert the correct CR&LF?

Technically I think it just needs LF throughout, but the principle is the same: open it in a decent text editor, change it to Windows format or UNIX format and save. You may like to switch on "Show End of Line" or "Show all characters" to see the CR and LFs.

On Windows, I use Notepad++ for such purposes. It has tabs, it has syntax highlighting, it has some useful plugins, and it’s free. Well, you can give him some money if you want to.

                      Hi Paul,

thank you very much! Ich use Notepad2 or SCITE, with which I found a conversion of the linefeeds. Now it works! Thx!
