I will post this in the bugtracker, but would like some opinions first. The QuickEdit menu bar breaks for some languages due to the fixed width of the bar being to small which causes the floated ul-element containing the menu to be pushed down. The following changes fixes that. It is tested in Opera 9, Firefox 1.5.0.7 and IE6.
Changes in assets/modules/quick_edit/javascript/toolbar.css:
- Set background image to remove gap between h1 and ul
- Set slightly wider toolbar -> 220px to get some wiggleroom for different languages. May need some tweeking.
- Set ul to absolute position in top right corner. This takes it out of the document flow and thus can contract and expand as necessary and even overlay h1 without breaking the bar.
- Set dropdown menu slightly wider -> 217px and x-position to right edge
#QE_Toolbar {
width: 220px;
background: #fff url(../images/link_bg.png) repeat-x 0 0;
}
#QE_Toolbar ul {
/* float: right; Remove this */
position: absolute;
top: 0;
right: 0;
}
#QE_Toolbar ul ul {
/* left: 0; Remove this */
right: 0;
width: 217px;
}
I’ll look into it some more, but for now I’m out of ideas. With my solution you have room all the way to the left edge which isn’t ideal, but it gives room for most languages, I hope.
