We’ll probably introduce specifically browser- and platform-optmized manager themes at a later date. In the interim, it’s quite simple to adjust any of the themes by editing the styles in /manager/media/styles/theme/style.css to suit your preferences.
i think the new beta is really greatapart from when I use modx or modx light manager themes, the font is almost unreadable. I am on win xp, with clear type turned on. screenshot attacehd.

Rev. 1902 FS#644 ? The list of suggested browsers in the ’readme’ file doesn’t include Opera
While there were some minor issues in 0.9.2.1 and previous 0.9.5 beta builds, MODx manager was and is fully usable with this browser.
...
I encourage the development team to support it as with no doubt it belongs to ’modern and popular browsers’ category. I hope MODx can’t afford to ignore its existence.
Which version works best? (I’d assume 9.something or other.) I’ll gladly add it to the list.
Nice to hear that!
I successfully used 8.54 and 9.x series with MODx 0.9.2 and greater. I’ve just made a quick check with 8.54 on MODx 1902 and it works fine, besides a small problem with sub-elements of the main menu hiding behind each other.
This is an old issue, the solution I used was ’collapsible top menu bar’ layout for the manager. It is most probably caused by one of multiple JS resources used by MODx, as Opera 8.54 has no problems with CSS hover menus.
