I don’t use QuickEdit personally (especially now that the Manager is so purty), but I tested it out on my XP SP2 system to see if I could reproduce this. And yes it also happens to me, but only in IE6. In Firefox the Content, Settings, and Go buttons work fine, but in IE6 the drop-down menus do not appear.

I think this is a similar JavaScript/CSS bug to the document tree icon issue. I can see a teeny bit of the dotted border of the drop-down menu when I click the Go button, but not the whole thing. I think that somehow the height property is not being set properly (so that IE6 understands it).

Often if you don’t give elements a starting height or width in IE6 it’s unable to modify them, so I would check the new CSS even before delving into the JavaScript. I’m testing this using the default minimal-base template, so that has an XHTML doctype that should force standards-compliance in IE6. This seems like a minor rendering bug (or rather a "feature" of IE6), so it shouldn’t be too hard to track down.

Most of y’all who are coding the beta don’t use IE6, do you? I use it just because it’s by far the dominant browser and I need to see what most of the rest of the world sees. I can’t blame you for not wanting to put up with all its quirks and limitations, though.

To those of you who have spent a lot of time recoding the beta, don’t be discouraged by a few bugs. This is how beta testing communities are supposed to work! It’s only been about 24 hours since the last beta was released and already there are a ton of folks banging away at it on radically different systems and doing very different things to see what needs work and how to fix/improve it.

Beta 3 rev 1533 now includes Garry’s patches. I think we can now really get down to making this sucker work properly. smiley

Thank you for quick reply, guys!

To OpenGeek: javascript code of QuickEdit in beta’s is completely different compared with 0.9.2, different quantity and names of files, different JS object model, etc. Because browser-side code is only code that "launches" new browser window (popup) with TinyMCE, I think that this is significant change.

To PaulGregory: script.aculo.us on "my" site is just default clean installation of 0.9.5 beta. I tried 0.9.5 beta2, 0.9.5 beta3 from zip, 0.9.5 beta 3 from SVN - with the same result :-(
3 different XP installs (no SP, SP1, SP2) but the "same" browser all have the error
        - well, IE 6.0 is on my host computer, other "default" IEs (6.0.1, 6.1) are on my VMWare’d XPs.
"RichEdit DHTML control" is just one from default 0.9.5 beta(2/3) installation - the TinyMCE.

          I’ve just installed MODx 0.9.5 beta 3 (rev 1531).

The light manager theme is very fine.

The edit, move, delete and cancel buttons need some refinements in Photoshop.

The rollover menu has some problems in Opera 9 but it works in Firefox and IE.

Text size in text fields is too small, especially in Firefox.

Here is what I get when I try to create a new template:

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in
           C:\Programmi\xampp\htdocs\modx\manager\actions\mutate_templates.dynamic.php on line 35

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at
          C:\Programmi\xampp\htdocs\modx\manager\includes\header.inc.php:18)
          in C:\Programmi\xampp\htdocs\modx\manager\actions\mutate_templates.dynamic.php on line 50

Modules-Doc Manager: when I try to change the template to a folder with its immediate children (n*) the template of children files does not change. I have to use n** to performe this task.

          Server configuration:
ApacheFriends XAMPP version 1.5.3a on Windows XP SP2

          + Apache 2.2.2
          + MySQL 5.0.21
          + PHP 5.1.4
          + phpMyAdmin 2.8.1

Eform snippet, with beta 3 at least, seems to be the old version. We’re at v1.2 now aren’t we?

I manage the Swedish language file and there seems to be some phrases missing in the default lang file. If you look under Reports/Schedule in the manager, you find the page is not displayed correctly. This is because the phrases for this page have disappeared. They were present in Beta 1 but was gone in Beta 2 and still is in Beta 3. Is this intentional or a mishap?

The phrase on line 1032 (switch_to_rte) is also missing. Is this on purpose? Just so I can correct the Swedish file.

                @Pont:
No language files have been updated for the beta releases. We would like to finish all tweaks prior to requesting changes from the translation teams.

                @albetertox:
rev 1533 fixes those issues and has replaced rev 1531

Just to clarify - the phrases are missing from the default English lang file causing the Reports/Schedule page to look somewhat lacking.

And I do like the new light theme. Some icons could use a little tweaking, but on the whole, very nice. However the manager seems to "hang" at times when jumping between pages ("Working...") which causes the top line to disappear.

It was removed as it is no longer needed.

Yes, it looks like they got removed accidently from the SVN trunk at some point - they will be added back in for the next public release.

@all: I can confirm the problem with QuickEdit and IE6.0 - had the same issue earlier.

I can also confirm the quickedit thing, (in IE6), and I reported this in the Beta 1 thread as well (or perhaps Beta2?)

                      :D
                      otherwise, great!
