Manager theme is "MODx". If we have new default theme, then it is a bug. And I thought this new theme introduced in 0.9.5 beta i new default theme. Or not? Maybe we should introduce something called "Default theme"? Or "0.9.2 default theme" and "0.9.5 default theme" instead of "Green", etc.

I think it is a matter of personal preference if upgrading an installation should force your current settings in the manager to change. My preference would be for no changes to the settings unless it is necessary (i.e. current setting no longer exists).

I can confirm this. When doing fresh install, manager appears in new theme. However, when upgrading from 0.9.2, manager does not change appearance. And yes, definitely everything was uploaded. I noticed this on 2 upgrade installations.

I had this problem too, when I upgraded from 0.9.2.1 to 0.9.5 beta2 : styles were totally broken, I had to manually go to manager/index.php?a=17 the menu was totally unusable) to set the theme again and save, then everything worked again. That’s probably a consequence of the default theme not being upgraded, while selecting "MODx" set things right.

Indeed; when I get back to my computer, I’ll add a bit to the installer to modify any manager theme values in the system or user settings which are set to "default", as this is no longer a valid theme name. The default for new installs will remain MODx Green for now, though if you had default or MODx specified as the theme, it will be MODx after the upgrade.

One of the important notes in first post says:

            * Don’t change the manager theme.

Is resolving this in near sight?

OK here are a few of the problems I’ve seen, Not sure which have been reported and which havent.

              1. Ajax Search links lead to dynamic urls "index.php?id=9" even though I have static sef urls turned on.

              2. (related to above) Dynamic urls are usable creating duplicate content issues with search engines. So if someone decides to link to www.domains.com/index.php?id=9, it will be indexed as duplicate content by the SE’s because they have indexed the page I want indexed at www.domain.com/article-1126081344.html. The index.php?id=9 version should 301 redirect to the html static version.

              3. www.domain.com/quickstart.html and www.domain.com/quickstart/ are both valid urls and pull up the same content. Again, one should be used and the other should return 404 or redirect via 301. Also noticed www.domain.com/quickstart.html and www.domain.com/quickstart are the same thing via the browser no matter what is sellected in settings.

              4. When clicking on the "Manage File" link the .DS_Store icon on the right "/manager/media/images/icons/context_view.gif" is a broken image.

              5. I posted a comment on a post located on the blog.html page using the ajax form. But instead of just posting the comment in the one post, it posted the same comment in both posts on the blog page, but not the third blog post on the 2nd page.

              Thats after just browsing around.

I tried the fake virtual directory to see if it returns 404 error now. It do, but the 404 page in fake directory is unable to load the sytlesheet from the correct path, so the page cannot be render by the stylesheet. I use firefox webdeveloper toolbar to ’view css’ and confirm that the browser do try to load the stylesheet from the fake-dir. Same for IE.

mysite.com/fake-dir/assets/templates/modxhost/layout.css (and all other css script)

                  * fake directory means not existing directory/ghost directory.

This also occurred to me with 0.9.2 so not sure if its a Beta 2 issue. I never bothered to investigate it further.
[UPDATE: I fixed mine by adding <base href="[(site_url)]" /> must have removed it a long time ago, thanks Paul]

Now that Modules are under their own title and not Resources the manager permissions aren’t working for modules

I have "Edit module" set, but it is not shown in the manager menu. You can try the Admin sandbox login from the link below, which has "Edit module enabled"

                      Module management

                      • Create new module
                      • Edit module
                      • Save module
                      • Delete module
                      • Run module

If you login and go to the actual URL it works, so its just the menu not being displayed
