yeh that’s how I tried it with no luck.

I’m having murder trying to get FURL’s to work and need some help.

Ive done the settings in the manager to use the document alias with .html on the end,

uploaded the htaccess file (.htaccess workes on the server because if I put a standard 301 redirct .htaccess file upmit works.) but it just wont work with the furl.

If I try to goto /about-us.html I just get a 404 despite that being the alias of the document.

I’ve read through the 17 pages here but still can’t seem to resolve the issue.

Any help would be great.

I can’t get urls to be case insensitive.

The friendly url part is working by going to the document-alias, but the RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA,NC] in the .htaccess file is not working.

I’ve tried to add in the following plugin -

with ’OnWebPageInit’ and ’OnPageNotFound’ check in the System Events Tab. This did not work either.

The ’Configuration/Friendly URLS’ are set as follows:
Use friendly URLS: Yes
Prefix for friendly URLS: blank
Suffix for friendly URLS: blank
Use friendly aliases: Yes
Use friendly alias path: No
Allow duplicate aliases: No
Automatically generate alias: No

ModX Version - 0.9.6.2

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

GOAL - when users type in url with uppercase letter, be re-directed to the correct page, for example, Index.html goes to index.html, not a "page not found"

I’m having problems with the way my URLs are displayed. They are supposed to end in the suffix .php. This is the problem:

- My parent pages are outputting correctly, until I add a child to that parent (they then change from www.mysite.com/page.php to www.mysite/page)
- The child documents all have the .php suffix, as they are supposed to, so no problem with these

This is what I have done to get friendly URLs:

1). Set the System Configuration in the Friendly URL settings to:

Use friendsly URL: Yes
Prefix: [Blank]
Suffix: .php
Use friendly Alias: Yes
Use friend paths: No
Allow duplicates: No
Automatically Generate: No

2). Put <base href="[(site_url)]"></base> in the head section of my document
3). Rename ht.access to .htaccess , which contains the following code (note: where it says www.mysite.com obviously this has been replaced with my actual site name:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.mysite.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L]

I’m presuming that my Strict SEO URLs are working as the children manage to have the .php suffix. I’m thinking that it might be an issue with my .htaccess?
I am really desperate to solve this problem and greatly appreciate anyone that can solve this issue :)

At least they do for me on 0.9.6.2

I know that it should be working, but it’s not working for me embarrassed

Anyone else have any ideas why it is not working?

I reall really need to solve this problem in order to use MODx as they website I wish to transfer has all of its pages as .php and I need to replicate them exactly.

You definitely need to remove the old rewrite rules for your static site. If the static site is still there, and you have pages named the same as the ones in MODx, MODx will likely skip handling the request since a file or directory actually exists is not considered a virtual resource (i.e. those rewrite rules won’t handle it).

Hi,

I’m having the following problem.

FURLS set up and running. Using friendly paths. This also works fine (after many hours of trial and error with my config wink

). But with one exception:

I have a language selection page as start page. "Please select: German or English". The selection is built by Wayfinder. My document structure is as follows:

language selection
-> German
-> Many directories and documents
-> English
-> Many directories and documents

German and English are set up with [[FirstChildRedirect]]. And this exactly is my problem.

The links on the selecetion page are rendered correctly: "/modxdir/sprachen/deutsch.htm". But because of that redirect, I get into an endless loop of redirecting and the selected page won’t be shown.

I can do a workaround. I will store the IDs of the "First Childs" in a TV and will use those for the language selection menu. But, I think there must be a better way to solve this problem.

Any ideas are much appreciated
