    The initial commit for supporting RTL in the installer has been implemented. The CSS needs to be updated for the appropriate overrides since it doesn’t seem quite right to me at the moment. Tweak can you have a peek at the installer in SVN and let me know what you think? Thanks!

          Hi Tweak, you’d need to get the latest from the 1.0 branch in our Subversion repository. From the main website: http://modxcms.com/develop/source.html

          The latest SVN for Evo is found at http://svn.modxcms.com/svn/tattoo/tattoo/branches/1.0/

            I know this isn’t about internationalization, but this seems the best spot to put it.

            Do you think we could add two simple snippets to the default 1.0 install?

            The first would be ’gettitle’, and the code would be:
            $doc=$modx->getDocument($modx->documentIdentifier);
            return ($doc['longtitle'] ? $doc['longtitle'] : $doc['pagetitle']);

            It is something I use on almost every site, instead of calling [*longtitle*] in my templates. You could make it more fancy if you would like, but I think many people would use it.

            The second snippet I would like would be called ’date’ and would just pass a param to the php date function, so a call like this:
            [!date? &format=`M d, Y`!]

            would give the current date. Again, you might want to make it more fancy than that, but it is a function many people would use (like putting the current year for the copyright).

            Just an idea!

              I use a snippet called CopyYears for copyright notices; it maintains a given start year and if it’s not the current year adds the current year, such as 2005-2009.
              // CopyYears - snippet for MODx
              // Automatically updating copyright date
              // License GPL
              // Written 04-2006 by scraf

              // &startYear - first year of notice
              //              defaults to current year
              // [!CopyYears?startYear=`2005`!]
              // will display 2005 - 2006 or 2005 - 2007, whatever the current year is.

              $spacer = " - ";
              $now = date("Y");
              $startYear = isset($startYear)? $startYear : $now;
              $years = ($now > $startYear) ? $startYear.$spacer.$now : $now;
              return $years;

                THE CSS dosent change nothing, when i use a RTL language (like Hebrew) it still shows the page in LTR mode...
                I think we need RTL CSS for RTL languages...

                  @RTL review
                  The review was intended to be just for the installer. We’ve not integrated the RTL changes into the manager yet. In my tests locally, choosing Hebrew or Persian should flip things around for now (not saying it’s done properly, hence the request for the review).

                  @adding snippets
                  I don’t think we should expand the number of snippets in the baseline install. Everyone has their set they prefer and it’s actually quite simple to make a custom installer to include extra snippets by modifying the setup.info.php file and adding what you want to the list there. smiley

                      That’s great to know, but where do we put everything else for additional resources as that file is more or less just the checklist? I would love to repackage things some! Oh, and the CopyYears would be the only one I would say the stock installer is missing....
