Has the alias auto generation for Swedish language been corrected?
In 0.9.6.3 auto generated characters when auto generating alias are quite wrong, and has always been in MODx.
Maybe time to change that?
Now alias is generated like this:
å - a
ä - e
ö - e
These characters are fairly commonly used, and in Sweden we always replace the characters like this:
å - a
ä - a
ö - o
Just a tip...

Is that a problem with errors in the common.php plugin though. Sure would seem to make more sense to have the transliterations done as Amrit points out.

There is also another issue with the UTF-8 swedish encoding.
The language file that comes with the installer IMHO should be set to svenska-utf8 since the language file infact is utf-8.
Not that it is a hassle to change to Svenska-utf8 in configuration after installation, though it seems quite unnecessary since all that needs to be done is rename the language file and the directory.
Just a thought, another one...

The default language during install is now set during installation and is totally separate from the install language. For instance, you could run the installer in French, but have the default Manager language be in Russian. It has nothing to do with the way the installer languages are named.

Hi Amrit!
I’ve been managing the translation of MODx to swedish for quite a while. I didn’t add "utf-8" to the installer language file on purpose. Since there is only one file for swedish I can’t see the need for declaring its encoding. Its more of an internal setting for the installer. Before it could be an issue when moving from the installer to the manager because the manager inherited the installers encoding. Not so any more since you can chose encoding for the manager during the installation.
