Support/Comments for Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0-RC-4

I only have a very limited time.
I choose to support Revo as the priority for the media gallery.

I have installed an earlier version of easy2 1.4 rc2 and now i get an error where the images should be: Javascript library error
The page is black which is being generated by the css #cboxOverlay.

I also still get the unstyled home page after saving the config and the config does not save any of the changes.

Any ideas of what the issue could be?

why do you persist to downgrade?
i can not find the best answer to the previous versions if any error occurs, since I tried to update the necessary bugfixing on each upgrade.

One thing I remember, the config is still file based until the 1.4.0 rc3 version.
Try to find any error in the Apache’s error log, that related to the easy2.
Some servers does not allow fwrite/fopen function for security policy (and that’s why I moved the config to the database based, since 1.4.0-rc4).

I’m just trying to eliminate issues as i do have Easy2 working fine on a few sites using the same server configuration. I do now have a local copy of the site with the latest easy2 version running successfully so hopefully this one will work as expected on the live server.

keep on eye to the error.log file on the web root.
they are usually autocreated if something wrong happens on the server’s side.

Ok, I have discovered why Easy2 is not working for me (thanks to Goldsky for picking this up), so just in case anyone else is experiencing problems...
The server i use has mysql.allow_persistent turned OFF, locally this is turned ON which is why all sites work fine for me locally.
Apparently this cannot be turned ON for specific accounts either so it looks like it’s back to MaxiGallery. Hope there’s a workaround for this at some point because Easy2 is such a great module.

The problem was in fact a mod_security rule being triggered on the server...thanks to Goldsky for assisting.

I give up. I can not solve your problem.
There is must be something ’different’ with your server settings.
The mysql’s connection stuff does run well for all actions, BUT saving config.
It can do the File/Dir creation and delete, User synch, Viewer editing, Slideshow changes, everything..., BUT saving config.

I’ve tried to upload some edited module’s class, reinstalled by overwritting (not from the scratch), the configuration settings just didn’t got saved.
All the content of your config page comes from the default.config.easy2gallery.php.
The config table in your database itself is empty.
If you delete default.config.easy2gallery.php, you’ll see everything is empty.

You don’t have permission to access /manager/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Try Maxigallery for your option.
I hope this kind of problem will not occur again.

Well now i’ve finally got everything working i have one more question.
I would like to add a paypal button to the ’image description’ area but <form> content does not seem to be generated...is there any way i can get this to work?
The button shows up in the ’description’ area (see attached).
