I dont understand what is going on in your config. Anyway, a dirty hack would be to comment out following lines.
Just tested on my site, with the detached infopanel, and that disapeared and scrolling (without click) was okay.
Comment out these lines:

again yours might be slightly different because the extra div s for the detached infopanel.
Edit, just tested the modification from that link, modified as written, infopanel is gone, scroll still okay.
But first I uploaded the smoothgallery/js directory from my PC to server, just to make sure.
