Hi all, I have been reading about the various eCommerce options available via a MODx created site and have not been impressed with TreasureChest, FoxyCart is fab but does not support UK PayPal standard payment gateway so is no good for me.... This leaves me with...
KiweeCommerce....
Has anyone got this working, can anyone post a URL of an example of it being used? I need to get a eShop added into a MODx site I am building which will allow using the standard PayPal UK payment gateway to cover the transaction.
Does anyone have any ideas on best ways to achieve this?
I have read a bit about KiweeCommerce - but i am not convinced its a robust solution as it seems to have been dropped since 2007...
Thoughts?

I don’t know, but I also don’t think it’s actively maintained. There was an effort to revive it but it appears to have stalled if not died outright. I unsubscribed from the Google Groups since the vast majority of traffic was from recruiters.

Cheers Ryan, thats what it looks like to me too... Desperate for a solid good eShop solution for MODx - not that impressed with TreasureChest - I cant seem to get it to work to be frank, and I have had others look at it and they are concerned that the price for products is passed on a URL string to PayPal so can easily be hacked and changed...
Does anyone have any ideas?
Foxycart looks miles ahead of everything else - but as i am in UK its not ideal as most gateways are either US specific or unheard of in UK

Standard Paypal is coming soon which should bode well for the UK. Not sure about debit cards though.

Well, looking at its forums, it’s not exactly perfect...scan down the topics in the "Installation" and "How-to and Troubleshooting" boards and see how many are marked "not resolved".
The problem is that e-commerce, whether a stand-alone application or a plugin for some other system, is in itself a full-time project for a team of developers. There are so many variables, so many different requirements. I know; I tried once with ShopX, a very modular system based on snippets and plugins, but it got so bogged down in feature requests and tax variations and shipping variations and product variations and inventory management... there was no end to it, so I gave it up. I would rather code a customized ecommerce module than try again to make a "one-size-fits-all" add-on.
Agreed.
Although lots of web guys out there just dont have that level of experience and clients all demand it!
I can hand build a catalog system in MODx no probs - but the handshaking with the payment gateway et all is where most people need assistance.
