    Odd, works fine for me.

It happens to me when I continue to click on the menu’s "Other Tricks", "Getting Help" and "Design Credits" in random order...

Rats. This problem has reappeared with a vengeance. My site has been down for at least the last ten minutes and shows no signs of returning to life.

I was adding keywords to pages just before going live and poof! Now I can’t load the manager or any MODx page. I have tried deleting the cache files (and I even deleted index.php and re-uploaded it), but this time it made no difference.

One key difference now is that the pages don’t finish but remain blank; they just hang and the browser shows an endless progress bar.

Any ideas? Have there been any discoveries as to the cause of this problem? This is indeed a critical issue.

Interesting. The site FINALLY just came back to life. The manager appeared normally, but a standard page that I had tried to load earlier showed up with this error:

        « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
        « PHP Parse Error »

        PHP error debug
Error:  checkpublishstatus(/home/myusername/public_html/assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

So I guess that deleting the cache file bothered it a bit this time around. What’s odd is that a) I waited at least five minutes before doing that, and b) it has been more than five minutes (300 seconds) since I deleted it. Does this provide any clues to anyone?

My site just started doing this, right after I added another MODx installation in its own subfolder. The other two use friendly URLs, this one does not. Now all four installations occasionally exhibit the "blank page" behavior, although it will clear up after a refresh or two, or if I close and reopen my browser. I wonder if it has anything to do with cookies? Or perhaps some kind of caching mechanism on the (shared hosting) server itself getting confused?

            ...

Doh! Not the sitePublishing.idx.php file, the siteCache.idx.php file is the one to try deleting!

I deleted both. When it didn’t help to delete siteCache.idx.php I took out the publishing cache. And when that didn’t help I deleted everything in My Documents folder and changed my desktop wallpaper to plain black.

LOL ... $100 to the first person that figures out this dang caching bug. (seriously ... and by that I mean the one that Jaredc’s experiencing too...)

In talking about this with Jason, there seems to be a bit of consistency. It seems that every occurrence of this includes a file being included... In order to figure this out, we’ll need to nail down a 100% reproducible scenario. :/

Hmm... I’m not including any files on my site. I have a meta tags snippet in my template file, but other than that on most pages all I’m doing is placing chunks and blocks of content.

In my case this seems to be ocurring mostly when a document is published. However it has also happened to me when I have saved changes to snippets (which doesn’t jive with the cache file theory very well). But at least in my case it seems to only happen immediately after I click a save button in the manager.

So my experience tends to indicate some sort of endless loop or hung process created when saving in the manager, but I’m not sure that’s true for everyone else.
