I just downloaded Version 3.1.5 to a MODx 2.0.8 site with no trouble. Be sure to wait until the "Download" button switches to "Downloaded" before clicking on the "Finish" button.
I am getting this error on the latest download of captcha for use with SPForm. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Captcha requires both GD and FreeType libraries in order to draw the images. It checks for them during the install and aborts the install if they’re not there.
That message is just telling you that you don’t have the GD library installed on your platform.
Bob,
The GD and FreeType libraries, I thought came with my install MODx Revolution 2.0.7-pl (advanced). Is there a way to install these missing libraries independently?
Thanks!

No, they’re part of the web server platform. If you’re on a hosting service, you can ask that the host enable them. If it’s your own server, they may be there but just not enabled. I know they’re installed and enabled by default in XAMPP.
Per www.php.net/manual/en/image.installation.php
"In Windows, you’ll include the GD2 DLL php_gd2.dll as an extension in php.ini"
I uncommented the entry in php.ini, restarted apache and was able to get Captcha installed, and SPForm working. Thanks for tip!!

I’m glad you got it working. Thanks for reporting back.
Hi,
I’m getting the White-screen error. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s somehow losing the responseID, because if I go into the snippet properties and edit and re-save the responseID parameter (with the same value that was there before), the form starts working again. I’m using MODX Revolution 2.1.1-pl (traditional). I cannot seem to work out why this happens, it seems pretty erratic
any ideas?

It may just be because saving the snippet clears the cache. Try editing a different property and see if that works too.
Check that first.
Then, see what you get if you add &warnAll=`1` to the SPForm snippet tag.
Ok thanks, I’ll try that next time the error occurs. Like I said, it’s not a consistent one so it’s hard to pin down what the exact problem is. In the mean-time I’ve set my response page to be non-cacheable to see if that helps.
