Hmmm . . . I’m not sure. The email check is a complicated regex expression. I think it’s in the JS code. If the allowed referers thing is choking too, it may suggest a character set / collation problem with your DB.

Make sure the German language file encoding is UTF-8 (as per Shaun’s recent advice). If that doesn’t do it, check to make sure the character set and collation of the DB and all its tables and fields match and that they match the MODx character set.

I seem to recall reading that phpMailer had trouble with UTF-8, so you might have to either update that or try SMTP.

        Yes, but why? tongue

Maybe the snippet cache wasn’t fully cleared.

Anyway, I’m relieved that it’s working for you. Thanks again for the translation.

I’m not sure what that could mean. I’d recommend installing the QuickEmail snippet. It will tell you quickly if the mail() system is working at your site.

So I have tried several times to install the downloaded Quickemail snippet and I get an error both on a local and server host:
Attempting to install package with signature: quickemail-1.0.2-beta1
          Package found...now preparing to install.
Could not find package manifest at .../Test/core/packages/quickemail-1.0.2-beta1/manifest.php
Could not unpack package .../Test/core/packages/quickemail-1.0.2-beta1.transport.zip to .../Test/core/packages/. SIG: quickemail-1.0.2-beta1
Could not install package with signature: quickemail-1.0.2-beta1

Still looking to fix this issue.

Possibly the package was corrupted on upload. I’ll try it tomorrow.

You might try changing the archive_with system setting.

Yeah I apologize, I am still new to the scene. So you might have to explain what you mean by "change the archive_with system setting".

Go to System->System Settings and type archive_with in the search box at the upper right. Change it from yes to no (or vice versa). Don’t forget that you did it, though in case it causes trouble with upgrading MODx.

Nope, changing the archive with setting did nothing. does it help if I say I am running 2.0.6?

Where did you get the .zip file from to begin with, BTW?

                    It’s now available directly.

First, uninstall and remove the one you have.

Go to System -> Package Management, right-click on QuickEmail and select Remove Package (check force removal).

Then click on the "Download Extras" button.

Type QuickEmail in the search box and download QuickEmail to the grid.

                    Install it.

It’s funny you mention the .zip file because something I noticed was that when I did a force removal of the package, it said it couldn’t find it. I had to go in through the tree and manually delete the folder. I downloaded it and formit through the manager, and both installed a .zip and quickemail put in the folders and manifest. But when I run the install it doesn’t not show the license but asks if I agree. I click next and it shows a blank read me are, click next and its another smaller blank area with a finish button. I click finish, and this time instead of not finding the signature it just hung at console open. Here is the last uninstall message.

As for spform, it seems that the issue may rest with godaddy. they seem to blacklist certain form submissions and not others for other people as well. Cause in my subdirectory site, your form works but ends up in my junk email saying it is the wrong format and failed. While my main site, won’t even send at all and says it is a false return address. Both forms are at their defaults with the same email addresses to send to. So I am finding it hard to figure out which rabbit to chase.
