How do I run the module?

I’ve copied the template file into the module manager, but there doesn’t seem to be any control panel or buttons to push to generate a backup.

What’s it supposed to look like?

ooops, had to logout and in again.

        Next question.

You say you have to rewrite the directory path for the backup directory.

Is that for every instance of $modx_backup_dir in both the template and the php file? as there are many instances of it.

        Thanks

The backup directory value is stored in the config.inc.php file. No need to change any other file for the backup directory value.

Yes, but there are four instances of it. Do I change them all or just one, and if so which one?

The config.inc.php file has four instances of "bkup_dir = backup/"? Are we talking about the same file?

                Hmmm,

                the instructiosn say to

                3. Edit /assets/modules/modbak/download.php, and set $modx_backup_dir to backup dir in new directory created in (1)

That’s obviously not the config file and there is no actual config.php file in downloaded package.

So now I’m more confused than than when I started.

Which file exactly should I be editing?

Sounds like you’re working with the older modbak package, not the BkupMODX package.

                    Yeh,

I found this thread by doing a search for backing up modx and this is what came up.

I’d assumed it was a support thread as it gives the download and install instructions as the start of the thread.

Anyway, I’ve found BkupMODX, I’ll install that and see how i go.

                    Thanks

Can anyone tell me if they have had success using BkUpMODX on Hostgator and if so how they managed to pull that off? I’ve got a problem with it doing the upload and extraction (it’s not completing the upload, even for a small test ZIP) and I think it somehow has to do with file or folder permissions. But even when I make sure folders are set to 777 I’m not getting anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
