Support/Comments for frontpage 1.0-beta

No, Frontpage uses its own pages and templates to make sure there are no clashes with any other content. Read the user guide installation section and check you have all the resources/templates etc. listed in your install, reading your post it looks to me as though your site is a bit broken for whatever reason.

That’s where my confusion started. The Installation section tells me what’s there as a result of the install. But it doesn’t tell me how to use it. I noticed a Frontpage container document under Resources using template "0" - I didn’t know there was a template "0". I also see 3 documents under this container. Are those the documents I start with and then add documents under the Frontpage container as I need them?

My site is www.gsyha.org. Functionally it’s not broken, but yes, there have always been some quirky things going on. You’re probably referring to my post about not being able to delete a template because it’s database record still shows ties to non-existent resources.

Frontpage in concept appears to be a great add-on that you’ve created. Unfortunately I’m an aging developer who relies heavily on documentation and examples. I have to be told exactly what to do because I don’t read between the lines very well.

Ok, looking at your site I can’t see where a web user logs in(probably me), if you show me where this is and create me a user account I can check things out better for you.

The user guide also has a Usage section, this is worth a read, as it says you will see nothing until a web user logs in through the front end.

Have a look at the pics on the Frontpage extras page on MODx showing what you should see when you’ve logged in, you don’t add anything under the Frontpage container, its just there to group the resources it needs to function so you can see what they are.

Also check the Customisation section, you may need jQuery.

For an example of what I mean by a login area please go here http://bitez.hobby-site.com:8080/modx/ and look at the sidebar, the login section is where web users login, this is an evo site but the Login component on Revo does the same thing, unless you allow users to log in Frontpage will be of no use to you.

I removed the login - it was splattered all over the top of my other right sidebar stuff. Also I would like it to take up less space. What kind of rights, policies do you need? I assume just "web" context?

From the user guide section 3 :-

This is based on normal Revolution permissions for that web user, set by document/user group membership, access policies etc. Depending on the outcome of these permissions checks either no toolbar will be shown, a toolbar with the Edit button will be shown, a toolbar with the Create button will be shown or a toolbar with both these buttons will be shown. There is another role based permissions check that can be invoked over and above this, as well as global Create/Edit button access, see the Customization section below.

Frontpage is installed into and assumes the web context at the moment, this is more to do with package installation issues than not being able to be used in other contexts.

Where can I find a tutorial.

There isn’t a tutorial as such, just the user guide, have a look at this, if you think it is deficient in any way please raise a ticket in github and I’ll have a look at it.

I’m using FURL, and the address doesn’t switch ’&’ to ’?’.

There is an error on OnWebPagePrerender.
My error log is full of my rendered page.
