Support/Comments for SPForm 3.1.3-Beta1

I have an install of Revolution 2.0.0-rc-2 and downloaded and installed SPForm from package management. Everything appears perfect but when I browse to the contact page I get a blank page with this error message: Error: Snippet properties not set in spform Any clue as to what I need to do here to fix this issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

Package Manager has changed some since RC2 and the current version of SPForm was built with the 2.0-PL version of Package Manager so something was probably corrupted during the install. I would uninstall SPForm, upgrade Revolution to the PL version, and reinstall SPForm.

You may see some weirdness during the uninstall and you may have to remove some of the SPForm parts manually.

If it’s an important site, I’d back up the site before doing the uninstall.

I’m receiving an email notifying me of the following error:

The following problems occurred with contact form processing:
. Do not fill Last Name Field
------------------------------------------------

I have no idea how to troubleshoot this since the default form (I’m using the basic snippet call with my own property set) only has the following fields: Name, Email, Subject, Comments. What’s the best way to go about troubleshooting this? I’m running Revo 2.0.2-pl. Thanks in advance!

Regarding my last post. I think I figured it out. I was using Autofill in Safari and there must be a hidden field called Last Name by default or something that you’re not supposed to fill out.

Now I’m getting a different error:

Error: Disallowed HTTP Referer! "http://www.domain.com/index.php"

The weird part though is that both "www.domain.com/index.php" as well as "domain.com/index.php" (and without the "/index.php") are listed in the allowed referrers setting in properties. What’s possibly weirder: I just received the email—so it "worked". Can anyone shed a little light on this? Thanks in advance.

All appears to be working now. No idea what I did but wanted to post an update regardless so nobody takes the time to reply. I wish I knew what I did that "fixed" the issue but I have no clue! Otherwise I’d post it for others.

You’re right about the hidden field (though you can turn off that option).

The "disallowed" message is definitely from SPForm. The only thing I can think of is that either you edited the allowed referrers but the old version was still in the cache or your host was temporarily having trouble with getting $_SERVER[’HTTP_REFERER’] correct. You can turn that check off if you have to.

Thanks, Bob! Very good to know that the referrer check can be disabled if needed. I’m not sure what was happening. I may have been forgetting to save the snippet and/or empty the cache. Sometimes just saving the property set makes you "feel" like you updated the properties properly.

I installed SPForm 3.1.3-Beta1 on Revolution 2.0.4-pl2 and it runs as it should. I would like to change the headings displayed above some of the form fields eg. the default comments heading is ’Please enter your comments below. Click "Submit" when done.:’ and I’d like to remove the ’click submit’ part from the end.

I’ve looked at the properties of the SPForm snippet and in the assets directory: /assets/components/spform but all that’s in there is the css and js directories.

I see from the spformTpl Chunk that the value comes from [[+spf-comments-prompt]] but I’m not yet sure where this gets it’s output value from.

I think the intention is for you to have your own property set for SPForm ( snippet call example [[SPForm@myPropertySetName]] ). You can then have your own version of the spformTpl and replace [[+spf-comments-prompt+]] in the template chunk with what you want. Hope that helps!?
