BobRay, I am aware and make mention to this in Post #2. Unfortunately the automated thread creation does not give me rights required in order to correct this issue.

@pixelchutes - That worked great, thanks! Is there a plan to fix this so that EditArea appears in the drop-down box as well? It seems to me that that would be more intuitive.

Unrelated: A bug I noticed in the HTML source highlighting: EditArea seems to think an apostrophe in the code always indicates the start of an attribute value, and highlights in blue until the next apostrophe. You may already be aware of this, and it may not be high on your priority list, but I just thought I’d mention it. Thanks again!

Sorry, I didn’t realize that I could get to the demo through the link in Post #2.

Putting a direct link to the demo in Post #2 might help some people find it.

@javadecaf, I will take a look at what it will take to get EditArea to show up in that list. I agree it makes complete sense...much more intuitive

For those of you experiencing syntax highlighting issues in HTML or XML related to "single quotes", I have come up with a working solution that you may want to try out.

Download the attached html.js.txt and xml.js.txt syntax definition files, rename them to just ".js" (drop the .txt required by Forum to upload) and overwrite the copies found in EditArea’s directory on your server. The location of the .js files should be: assets/plugins/edit_area/core/edit_area/reg_syntax/

You may need to clear your cache to pick up the new reg_syntax files. Please try these out and report back your experience. If all goes well I will plan to include as part of the next release.

@pixelchutes - Sorry, but that didn’t work for me. I followed your instructions exactly (downloaded files, renamed minus the .txt, overwrote old files) but it’s still highlighting any text inside single quotes as though it were a string. I also cleared the cache, but that didn’t help either. Any other ideas?

That seems very odd. Can you test from a different browser just to ensure the files aren’t pulling in from cache? I’ve tested the files and could not get the "single quote issue" to replicate in HTML or XML...

Anyway you could provide a screen shot of what you’re seeing?

OK, it is working now. I use Chrome, and it’s really bad about caching things and not refreshing. When I manually emptied the browser cache, it started working. Good call, thanks!

OK, I seem to be stuck again. Pardon me if I’m missing something obvious, but is there any way to change the default font size for EditArea? I looked through Tools/Configuration/Interface & Features, where the TinyMCE settings are, but found nothing. I even tried to hack a couple files in the core, but came up empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the plugin’s configuration tab and change the font size setting (the default setting is 9).

This is nice! I just installed it to see what this was all about, and I do believe I’m in love! I also see that there is a drop-down in its menu toolbar for setting the font size for that session.
