Support/Comments for Easy 2 Gallery 1.3.5-release

Thanks for you hints and sorry for my late reply. Since I also run German as the default manager language, I tried kamilentes solution. And it worked good!

After that, I could properly recognize the messages! I created the gallery-folder manually, cause the script was not able to create it and furthermore I also deleted the install folder the same way.
Now I can access the module and will start working with it.

I’ve added output buffering to avoid PHP’s memory limit.
I’ve tested @my localhost to sync 1510 pictures in 252 folders for 18 seconds.

I still commented the file’s/folder’s name restoration function, because what I did only works for folder’s name.

But I think it can work well as a new installation.

I’m running new version of PHP (PHP Version 5.3.1), just noticed some depreciated code warnings when posting a new comment.



Another thing to consider in future updates is the urls and the images path. Personally I use friendly paths, which means my content urls are like: siteroot/somefolder/anotherfolder/documentinside.html

I am already used to having to modify many snippets which do not take into consideration this setting and have all src and href start off with:



instead of



but I though this was worth mentioning =).

Great work on the module other than that.

I really appreciate your hard work on the module. So I like the look of having the thumbs on the same page as the big image. I also want the thumbnails to output based on the items count, or position inside the gallery folder, so that there is a clean, and automatic display of numbers for user to click on. I also wanted users to see which thumbnail is active based on either hitting the next or previous button, or which thumbnails they have clicked. I know that my requirements are not the norm, but they feel like a standard enough method to display the output that [+easy2:pos+] should be a standard parameter and not a hack.

With those requirements in mind I posted the following feature request on the googlecode page:

I think the user should be able to configure the thumbnail output, "out of the box" with the count as one of the parameters like [+easy2:pos+] that Temus showed me how to build in message http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,44591.msg273006.html#msg273006 and implemented in http://gti.websitewelcome.com/~wecphoto/espana-spanish-travels-and-observations.html . The jQuery that Temus outlined in message http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,44591.msg273038.html#msg273038 to show which is the active message should also be included in the distribution as everyone would want to be able to show which image is active (who isn’t using the lightbox method).

Tx for the quick update. I’ve been working a lot with this module and I am loving it more and more, it is very flexible. I really congratulate all those involved for the work. This feels like something that should be included in the default modx distribution at a later stage, it is very cleanly integrated.

One question about this last update, I could not find comments on what was new in it? I saw the same comments as yesterday when I downloaded originally.

that’s actually very specific purpose, although it’s very good.
I’m thinking to make this module has a plugin ability.
That means an over haul of the code.

Meanwhile, another bugfix:
+ limit of subdirs included with the same parameter &limit.

Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /home/*****/public_html/assets/modules/easy2/comments.easy2gallery.php  on line 157

This is what I’m curious. Which part did you change?

for the images and links? those were template changes for the most part, the only actual snippet code I changed so far for it was inside the actual snippet, the link for the pages navigation when &limit is used. I have not yet found other places where it would be required.
