Thanks for using my plugin. I’m sorry but I think your problem has nothing to do with the plugin itself, but rather PHP/WebServer configuration that allows only 1 or 2 concurrent PHP executions per one client. And those are taken by the plugin, disallowing execution of other page rendering scripts.

Please let me know what is your webserver (apache, iis, lighttpd?) and php connection type (sapi, cgi, fastcgi?) I’ll have a look what can be done to allow more simultaneous connections.

I did have a quick look at things and you can, for what it’s worth, start a download and then start a new instance of a web browser and surf the same web site. You just can’t surf using the same browser that is downloading a file. (You can start a new tab in FF and it will work the same as explained).

My way of thinking is that the plugin runs but the plugin code doesn’t complete until the download has finished which is when the web browser is relinquished and surfing can continue.

Server API CGI

I have access for a little longer to an apache server over which I have complete control if you’d like me to test your code. While working on this issue, would it be possible to also count the downloads only if they have completed? Thanks for plugin. It is somethine we would very much like to use - John

Any Way to make the file not load in the browser window.. I want a dialog box to say Open or Save File, instead of opening the file?
Did I miss anything in the setup?

header(’Content-Disposition: to attachment instead of inline.

Hi, I tried to use the plugin, but... when I installed my page was giving error 500 to every bot ... and not only. In browser it was everything ok.

When I looked into logs i saw . There are only three ’<’ in plugin code, but for me it seems ok. Can you have look at this? It doesn’t work for me

Are you sure this is not another plugin with the error. I think there was a syntax error in the distributed version of 0.9.6.1p2 the first few days it was up. Check the Syntax Highlighter plugin to see if this is causing the invisible 500 error.

Logs named the plugin as cause of errors. When i removed plugin my site worked again just fine.

Is it possible to use FileDownload/FileDowloadPlugin with Friendly Url Paths turned on? My implementation works perfectly with friendly urls on and friendly url paths off.
