Well it was not designed to support multiple separate directories, however it should somehow work with subdirectories of one single folder. I’ll review that to make sure it works as it should.
It is also important what’s your rewrite rule:

allows having
http://www.mymodxsite.com/downloads.html/releases/abao0995u.exe but is dissallows having
http://www.mymodxsite.com/products/downloads.html/abao0995u.exe (no sublevels for pages)

@edipo: I tried to uses commas to separate the folders, but got all sorts of strange results. I haven’t found a way to do it either.
Can you precise if you get 404 ERROR or just page reloaded instead of the file. In 1st case this is the faulty rewrite rule, 2nd is case of file that wasn’t found by my plugin so I wish to know why.

Well this plugin uses totally separate download mechanism than
FileDownload. So
FileDownload is used just as a helper for rendering the file list content and it is not required to be present at all, while
FileDownloadPlugin is handling the file rights and downloads, not the
assets\snippets\filedownload\download.php which comes from
FileDownload snippet and supports the counter.
Anyway author of
FileDownload snippet is working on merge my plugin with his code, so hopefully we can have the all features of the snippet together with things introduced by my plugin.
