Can you precise if you get 404 ERROR or just page reloaded instead of the file. In 1st case this is the faulty rewrite rule, 2nd is case of file that wasn’t found by my plugin so I wish to know why.
The page just reloads but the url shows as
http://www.emanz.ac.nz/rescue3.html/27%20-%20Oct%2099.pdf
If I replace the rescue3.html/27%20-%20Oct%2099.pdf with assets/*****/******/rescue3.html/27%20-%20Oct%2099.pdf it gets the file. (starred out part of it as don’t want it Googled)
The TV has the full path to the relevant directory /home/***********/emanz.ac.nz/html/assets/*****/****** which is the same path used in the description chunk of the filedownload snippet. I have also tried assets/*****/******

Hi, I have a strange problem... if download a zip file and I unzip it, inside there is a file without extension (with the name of the zip file)!
(and not my file of course)

I refer to files served by the plugin! I think it is the plugin because if I disable the TV zip files are OK.
I have noticed that if I add the ".zip" extension to the file without extension (inside the zip) I have the original zip file with the right files inside!!

I think i’ve got everything set as specified in the instructions for both FileDownloadPlugin and the FileDownload 2.5 snippet, but when i actually click on the file to download, all that happens is the page reloads, no download. The file exists, and the path should be correct in the FileDownloadFolder TV (when i change it to anything else, i get a parse error) but it won’t download
I really like the security this adds to the downloads, i just need to find out what i’m doing wrong. Any ideas?
It appears that the FileDownloadPlugin doesn’t like the character "+" (and others?) in the downloadable file’s name. It doesn’t download, the page just refreshes. is there a way to add support for weird special characters in the filenames?
Also, if i reference a TV as part of the path specified in the FileDownloadFolder TV ( example: assets/files/[*TV*] ) i get a parse error.
i’m running Modx 0.9.5 (just upgraded this morning) but i had the same issue on 0.9.2.1 yesterday.

I have some problem using the latest FileDownload snippet togeter with your plugin, becouse it reveals the real directory. Since they are two separated product, I prefer keeping on using your plugin putting a link.
But I don’t know how to display a counter, using just your plugin. Is it possible?
cino, the file download snippet no longer reveals the the directory if you use version 2.5, and it is integrated with the file download plugin for download counting.
I have trouble with RewriteRule
if i use rule - RewriteRule ^([^/]*)/?(.*)$ index.php?q=$1&d=$2 [L,QSA]
then download of files work OK, rule works for pages /web/page1.html too, but doesn’t work for pages /web/page1/page2.html
If I keep my old rule - RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /web/index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]
then download of files doesn’t work, but rule works for all other pages
Could somebody help me ??
