      Hi,

      i got no question, but must report about a IE 6-bug with the new google maps API. If you set base href (to run your site with seo friendly urls), don’t close it with short tags. Just use  this:
      <base href="..."></base>

      See http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=517

      Maybe we should set this hint on the download page?

        Bye,
        Mithrandir

        This is pretty well known for a lot of IE problems.

            Doze you are a genius!

            This works great now I’ve had time to go through it.

            As above - if you’re ever in Nottingham UK I’ll buy you a beer or twelve grin

                http://googlemapsapi.blogspot.com/2007/12/v294-terrain-and-new-maptypecontrol-to.html shows the code-> you only have to insert
                map.addMapType(G_PHYSICAL_MAP);
                in the snippet (see last line below):
                        $script .= '
                                //set initial map type
                                ';
                    if ($mapType == "normal") {
                        $script .= '
                                map.setMapType(G_NORMAL_MAP);';
                    } else if ($mapType == "satellite") {
                        $script .= '
                                map.setMapType(G_SATELLITE_MAP);';
                    } else if ($mapType == "hybrid") {
                        $script .= '
                                map.setMapType(G_HYBRID_MAP);';
                    }
                $script.='map.addMapType(G_PHYSICAL_MAP);';

                Now, you’ll see a new button. If you want to open the map with terrain view, you must use "setMapType" (untested).

                  Nice. Thanks. I´ll try to set up the "setMapType" as well.

                    In the snippet "Parameter default values configuration" I made this change…

                    // ["normal" | "satellite" | "hybrid" | "physical"]
                    // Initial type of the map
                    $mapType = (isset($mapType)) ? $mapType : "physical";

                    and then I changed the code like this in the last part of the snippet:
                       if ($mapType == "normal") {
                            $script .= '
                                    map.setMapType(G_NORMAL_MAP);';
                        } else if ($mapType == "satellite") {
                            $script .= '
                                    map.setMapType(G_SATELLITE_MAP);';
                        } else if ($mapType == "hybrid") {
                            $script .= '
                                    map.setMapType(G_HYBRID_MAP);';
                        } else if ($mapType == "physical") {
                            $script .= '
                                    map.setMapType(G_PHYSICAL_MAP);';
                        }
                    $script.='map.addMapType(G_PHYSICAL_MAP);';
                            $script .= '

                    … and it works! Then I just wonder if anyone knows how to get the "Street View", "More…" and the scrolling with the mouse working. Then this snippet would be … !  smiley

                      Google Map Marker is a great snippet - thank you.

                      I was just wondering of there was any way to filter the results? So say I show a map with 50 restaurants on it - I could show another map with just the French restaurants filtered by doc id?

                      Thanks again for a great Snippet.
