    This planner looks like it’s made for this snippet! wink From dhtmlgoodies.

      doze... NICE find. smiley

      If only it allowed for multi-day events now it’d be perfect!

        Can someone, anyone, please post a quick reply as to WHERE each of the calendar files is supposed to be uploaded?

        I am getting the following error:

        PHP error debug
          Error: Unknown(assets/snippets/calendar/calendar.class.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
          Error type/ Nr.: 	Warning - 2
          File: 	/home/wiz06/public_html/modx/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(691) : eval()'d code
          Line: 	226

        I have ALL of the files copied to two locations:

        assets/snippets/calendar
        assets/modules/calendar

        I have the DB table installed and the snipped installed... but still getting the error. Thanks!

          It seems assets/snippets/calendar/calendar.class.php is not properly uploaded on the server, try re-upload it, sometimes FTP uploads get corrupt...

            Hi, I have been using ModX for a month or so now and had a need to work with the Calendar snippet for a project. I went through and learned as much as I could about how it works and put together some basic documentation in the wiki: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Calendar

            I am struggling with how Calendar uses placeholders. Seems to have built in it’s own place holder logic instead of using what is built into modx. Can anyone shed some light as to why this might have been done? Original author hopefully...

            Also, can anyone point me into the correct direction on how to implement placeholders in snippets?

            I have done a bit of looking in the forums and the wiki but was having trouble getting hold of a "best practices" for snippets, placeholders etc..

            Any help is appreciated.

                  You mean like the awesome feedback you provided with that reply? .. oh snap! kiss

                  Ok fine ... my feedback:
                  Could someone please write some useful documentation & installation instructions? tongue

                  ... happy now? grin

                  P.S. The &calDataSource parameter seems pretty moot. It’s not actually accessed when calling "Cal_OpenEditor" in calendar.class.php lines 665, 703, 743, or 776. Better to update line 269 of the snippet with:
                  //if(source == "option")
                  //source = prompt ("Please enter the data source to be used (Code Abbreviation):","db");

                  source = "db";

                  Or better yet, just take out the if-stmt altogether.

                  Quick install:
                  1.) Unzip.
                  2.) Create a new Snippet labeled "Calendar", and place the contents of "calendar/resources/calendar.shippet.tpl" for the code.
                  3.) Place the unzipped "calendar" folder into "assets/snippets"
                  4.) Called like other Snippets: ’[[Calendar]]’ or ’[!Calendar!]’

                  Might seem obvious, right? ... sorry, the fact that it was labeled with a ".tpl" extension threw me off ... oh, and was placed in a sub folder.

                  Next step, figuring out which parameters actually do anything...

                      Wow! What an Awesome snippet!

                      I simply needed a quick Calendar display within MODx, but this snippet offers so much more than that!

                      Through the use of templates, I was quickly able to remove the "Add Events" HTML/JavaScript (until it is needed) and now I have a ready to use/navigate/style calendar!

                      NOTES:
                      - During install on MODx v0.9.6, the snippet couldn’t find the "modx_calendar" table (as it hadn’t been created). I was not too sure HOW to get this table to "create itself", maybe I missed an install step, but a quick search for "CREATE TABLE" led me to what I was looking for. However, the create table statement I found did not work for me, I believe it was because the PRIMARY KEY reference used Quotes instead of backticks. Either way, not a big deal...I simply modified it and created the needed table.

                      - Next, I received an error related to the calendar/cache folder. I ended up having to CHMOD to 777 and all was well! Calendar has been working like a charm ever since

                      - If you DO NOT want the calendar event handling/admin abilities, To remove the Admin JavaScript that is loaded, you will have to update the Calendar snippet:

                      Update to the following (Approx Line 261):

                      $cal->tplAdminHeaderScript = '';

                      Rather than overwriting the default template, I first renamed $cal->tplAdminHeaderScript to $cal->tplDefaultAdminHeaderScript

                      It would be nice if this worked as a snippet parameter, for override purposes...shouldn’t be too hard to implement.
