    Nice,

    thanks Mark, Garry, and Susan.
I will try t install xampp/wampp on my computer to test this out. The only reason that I can come up with, my server running PHP5 under CGI mode. It has quite a but of oddity, but it sure makes my job a lot easier, by not having to chmod all my files and directories for them to be able to be modified, because it’s running under my user account.

Anyway, I’ll see what I can do on my part too than.
    Thanks

Wendy, before I forget... in the sql script you need to use backticks ` instead of double quotes " to maintain backwards compatibility.

backticks for the column name you mean? Is it inside the code or the suplpied sql statement for creating table??

        Thanks

It is for sure inside the setup sql file. I mean replace any " with ` (thats how Jason got the setup sql file to run for me...)

Do you think I need to use backquote as well on my sql statement inside the class? I know nothing about this compatibility issue, so any thought on this will be awesome

              Hi all,

Good news! I’ve finally got it working. grin

Having decided that the ’undefined ...’ errors were not the real cause of my problems I turned off the ’Stop on Notices’ function in the index.php.

I went delving into the calendar.class.php and realised that it’s using the regClientStartupScript() API function. This has been reported as not functioning correctly in 0.9.1 with a fix for it being found at: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,1942.msg18261.html#msg18261

              So, I fixed that.

I then set up a ’manager’ permissions group, assigned a ’calendar’ document group and set my login to the ’manager’ group. Finally, I assigned my ’Calendar’ page to that document group.

Not sure if all the steps for the permissions setup are required but I’ve not really fiddled with them before so decided to cover all the bases!!

Now I know that it works with the setup above, I can go back and look a bit more closely at the ’undefined ...’ errors.

@Djamoer: Looks impressive when it’s working cool

              Cheers, Garry

Garry you just made my day.

This is the first setup that is working.
I’ll follow up on the issue of this minor error.
Btw, it’s true that the regClientScript is not working, and I did fix mine, and forgot to tell you guys about it.
                I’m so sorry about that.

                Thanks again Garry.

                Sincerely,

Just glad I could help out in some way.

I thought something was wrong when I noticed a distinct lack of javascript in the page source ...

If you need somebody to test out any changes, just give me a shout.

                  Cheers, Garry

I’m being unusually dense here, but I’ve got the snippet itself working (see the article on my progress on my home page). Now what? I had understood that there was a plugin or module or something that goes with it?

                      Hi Susan,

It used to be module-based, but everything was transferred into a single snippet. See post here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,2318.msg16394.html#msg16394

As long as the manager/document permission groups are set up, you can do all the administration through the frontend.

                      Cheers, Garry
