I too would love to see this puppy as a module! I could also see how the desired JSON output could easily be associated with any MODx doc without requiring any "Copy & Paste", etc.

no copy & paste required - at the moment, I’m creating a link to the map page in the TV description field - this way I can easily update the tv field from the map script - as to creating a module, I’m not sure whether I’m going to be able to do this - the way it works at present is that the script can easily be used with any CMS I guess - I also intend to use the script with ExpressionEngine - if somebody likes to help to make a module out of it, please let me know - I’m going to update the script tomorrow.

Once you feel it is ready, I will help! Just send over all the necessary (dependent) files and I will help to create a module out of it! Please also advise me on your current TV setup/implementation!

I’m not using any accordions on that page - just regular sildes using mootools - please feel free to look up the code or even better check out the mootools examples.

I’m new to MODx and currently converting my first site over this week yet cannot wait to get started on the second conversion.

I have been working on this pretty much by hand going back and forth to googlemaps and then placing coordinates in an external .xml file. If I continue to locate land parcels like on this link:

how could I benefit using something like what you have devised? I have only plotted out the bigger parcels but would love to eventually plot out individual lots. Is the interface supposed to feed other pages or can it create something like panoramia in the near future and associate an image with a marker? Lots of questions since I’m amazed and so enthused with MODx.

@mmjaeger: What you built is incredible!

I’m currently trying to use some of the existing GoogleMap plugins for MODx, but they all seem to require the GeoCode in order for the marker to be accurate. How did you calculate the GeoCode based off an address typed in? I put in my home address and it was spot on!

And once you calculate the GeoCode, how can I pass that back to my address TV in order for the GoogleMarker plugin to see it?

I installed the GeoCoder snippet for MODx from one of the GoogleMap plugins, but all it seems to do is calculate the distance between two addresses. I’m wondering if I can just modify this snippet to calculate the GeoCode for just one address? Sorry to ask that here, but I thought might relate a little to how you pull in the GeoCode.

the current GoogleMap Api offers a geocoder - so getting the coordinates based on the address is pretty easy. I’m currently working on an updated version of my code and I’ll upload it as soon as it’s ready.

This looks awesome, I was looking around a while for something like this to test on a (test) site.

What’s the status of this quite cool snippet atm ?
