The book seems to be a second edition of the first book. It’s definitely an Evo book based on the description, with a horribly confusing 2.0 label. That being said, I’m always a fan of more treeware on MODX.
Bob’s book is mostly done and we should have the contractual bits wrapped up this week to get into final production. it’s going to be gorgeous and super-helpful, and there will be both electronic and print versions available.

There is no reason why they should self publish when they can kickstarter it Im quite sure they would get a lot of backers not only from the MODx community but also curious devs that won’t take therisk with MODx because of the lack of documentation besdes rtfm.
I am advocating for MODx on every forum, twitter, facebook and forrst site I frequent so if we all do our part we will raise the capital to get the book done.

I can see that Bob and Shawn have a different interest on MODx.
Since both of them are close to the ’heartbeat’ of the core, I hope they are not writing a same range of the discussion.
btw, an excerpt as a teaser of the pre-released book would be nice to know.

I tried to do it, but the paste from Word looked so bad, I couldn’t stand to leave it here. When I’ve some time, maybe I’ll do some screen shots or a mini pdf file.
I will definitely pay for the Bod’s current version if I know he will send me the final version when ready.
This get’s me an idea:
Can I pay now for a beta PDF version and get the print version by email when ready?
