I am having trouble getting the feed from the database.
I will look at it again tomorrow.

I said earlier I had a few ideas about using this module, and that it could be helpful informing clients of the project status ?
Well, I happen to use ActiveCollab to manage websites projects with my clients and there is a project rss feed... do you follow my line of thought ?

      Thought I would share !
      It’s great grin

For sure is a good idea.
Perhaps I’ll add tabs on the next release, but if someone of the core staff enlight me on the plugin question there are plenty of possibilities.

But keep on sharing your ideas!

Has anyone thought about porting this to SimplePie... there’s some evidence that Magipie may in fact may be faster and more robust, but I don’t know if version 1.1 of Simplepie has addressed this. http://codeninja.de/simplepie_vs_magpie/

I think it would really make sense for this to be on the welcome page for the manager in all reality, as security issues are of paramount importance to address.

I made a patch for 0.9.7 to utilize SimplePie over MagpieRSS, but as of yet I haven’t seen that committed via SVN. I am thinking my coding skills are not up to snuff for stuff to be included with the core, in which case I will leave it to someone else to switch this over.

I wouldn’t say that Jesse R. as there’s a whole lot of changes going on in converting Ext from 1.1 to 2.0 for 097 right now.

I can understand that, but I am more of a hobbyist so I am not offended if it isn’t included. If no one else steps up to try and convert this to SimplePie, I will take a look at it.

Updated to SimplePie 1.1. Since you plan on adding this as a module to the core, I pulled out all the language strings. These strings will need to be added to the english.inc.php file and other translations. Once that is done, it can include the language files like Ditto or Docmanager does. This also respects the users choice of RTL or LTR text and manager theme (or at least I think it should).

Cool Jesse and thanks. Our of curiosity, other than Simple Pie being what all the cool kids use, what does SimplePie have going for it that Magpie has let slip ... seems like it’s been a couple of years since Magpie was updated, but also seems fairly robust and memory efficient.
