    After the recent security issue the need to reach all the people with a news has risen in importance.
    This module gives you a page where you can have all the RSS feeds you want.

    I’ve thought about modifying the manager itself to show a feed on the homepage, but I prefer my clients don’t see a "Security Flaw! Upgrade ASAP!" title when entering the manager.

    By default it shows the feed from "Announcements" and "Core code" forums, but you can access the list of feeds in the "Configuration" part of the script.
    If you look there you’ll find:
    $urls[0] = "http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?sa=recent;type=rss;action=.xml&limit=10;board=1";
    $urls[1] ="http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?sa=recent;type=rss2;action=.xml&limit=10;board=8";
    // $urls[2] ="anotherUrlToRSS";

    Change the urls as you want or add other urls by adding a line like the other, following the numbering progress inside the square brackets.
    If you want only one feed, it has to start with "$urls[0]="!

    Installation instructions in the readme inside the zip.

    Hope it helps.

    EDIT: Updated, see this post.

      Great initiative ! Kudos Kudolink wink !!!

      I just love this community’s natural pro-activeness grin

      This is really a nice addition, which opens many uses. I mean for instance I can set-up a rss feed for my clients and keep them informed of maintenance, modifications, updates... cool cool

            Thanks for all the kind feedback laugh
            As soon as a topic or forum starts about security the urls will be updated.
            I plan to enhance the look also... It’s quite awful now...

                Thanks indeed, though I think the announcement belongs on the front page in essence as a configuration warning. smiley

                  I have made an enhanced version of your kRss module this afternoon that stores feeds to a database table, and has a form that allows people to manage (add or remove or rename) feeds and set the number of feeds to request. Can I post it here?

                    Sure scotty.

                    BTW, I’m trying to create a plugin that adds a line with the last item from a feed on the welcome page, but I cannot understand how to hook to the event system.

                    First of all, I don’t recognize the right event for this thing: the only one I found is OnManagerPageInit which is fired by the index.php file, but the welcome page (action=2) doesn’t invokes events.
                    Second: how can I take the output of the manager and send it back after playing with it? There are some fixed variables, or functions?
