      This module uses the PhpConcept Library Zip from PhpConcept. I will have to sift through their docs (which are mostly in french unfortunately for me) to see about compatibility issues.

        Yes, Scotty, I’ve been using it quite happily on my loripsum.co.uk template showcase site for some time now. I’m gradually converting all the templates available there to SkinGraft packages, and the first thing I do in every case is completely remove the template from the site, then install it with SkinGraft. I’ve not had any problems with it at all. I even just wrote an article about it yesterday!

        This is on a HeartInternet (reseller’s) shared hosting plan, with

        Apache/2.0.55 (Red Hat)
        PHP Version 4.4.4 (CGI)
        MODx 0.9.5 RC1 rev 1848
        (although it’s been working for several days now through at least three revision upgrades)

        Since the PHP is running as CGI, I don’t have to worry about permissions on the assets/templates folder or the assets/modules/skingraft/uploads folder.

        And I just installed it on my MAMP servers with PHP 5 on MODx 0.9.2.1, and installed a template. No problems.

        Apache/2.0.55 (Unix) PHP/5.1.2 DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.0.55 OpenSSL/0.9.7i
        PHP Version 5.1.2

          I installed modX for the 1st time yesterday & saw MODx_Resource_Wizard_1.7 which was an easy in,nstall
          & then used it to install the included SkinGraft0.2.modxpkg.zip
          Install was fine & I was able toinstall a few SkinGraft compliant themes.
          But a few of these themes needed extra snippets which I hadn’t installed.
          But I went ahead anyway & the installs worked fine.
          >>> Autumn Bounty
          >>> BuryyX
          >>> Galaxy
          >>> Retro Poster

          I tried installing non skingraft compliant themes but kept getting this message :
          The file you have selected is not a SkinGraft compatible template. If you are sure it is a template archive, you will have to manually install it.

          You may want to contact the template author and encourage them to package the template according to the SkinGraft guidelines.

          This using "Still_Waters_Template_1.0.zip" & have tried with several others.

          I read through this thread & thought that it was a case of permissions so I CMODed the directory to 777 but still get this message.

          Just thought I’d let you know, it’s no real problem as I’m only experimenting for the moment & trying to learn a bit about MODx.
          But thought that as a total ’noob’ I’d let you know that your SkinGraft is ultra user friendly aswell as your MODx Ressource Wizard.

          Thanks
          :)

            no worries man. I am still a noob at lots of things.

            The SkinGraft compatible templates have a file inside the zip called skin.php that tells the SkinGraft module how to install it. if there is no skin.php file in the zip, you will get that error. Our best template designer, Susan Ottwell, has hopped on the SkinGraft band wagon, and I am trying to convert some of the popular skins to SkinGraft, but not all of them will work quite yet. SkinGraft 1.0 is coming soon.

            Thanks for the compliment. The main reason for doing this is the user-friendly thing, so that comment means a lot. SkinGraft 2.0 will hopefully design your templates for you and install them just by thinking it, but we’ll see. that may have to wait for 3.0.

              looking forward to 1.0

              reason i chose MODx is because i can see all of you are really active, which is essential foir such a wild piece of machinery such as MODx.
              SkinGraft will be the mod that will help out & convert & lot of people to using MODx.
              Great work

                  WOW Susan!
                  That article provides better documentation on usage than I was going to post in the Wiki. Thanks for that. I would love to have you help me document version 1.0. I am hoping to release it this weekend, but I have to work 12hr shifts on Fri, Sat, and Sun so we will see how productive I can be when I get home. The core code is almost completely rewritten, taking advantage of the DBAPI this time, and removing as much procedural code as possible (Woo Hoo! Go OO PHP!). It also got a nice skin to fit in beautifully with the MODxLight Manager theme. Oh... and every user-readable text is being loaded from a language file, so multilanguaging it should be a breeze. One more thing, it uses the moofx version of lightbox2 called litebox. Here are some screen shots to wet the palate. cool

                    grin grin Not hardly! All I do is port the designs better designers than I’ll ever be make! But that function has its uses as well, so I don’t feel bad about it. Anyway, in a few more days I should have all the templates available on loripsum.co.uk switched over to SkinGraft packages.
