[MODULE] SkinGraft. Beta testers wanted.

Just tested today the SkinGraft version 1.0.1with Modx 0.9.5
The installation with the MODx ressource Wisard works like a charm but i have find somes bugs :
- There is MacOsX related files in the distributed ZIP files packages (Skingraft & Wisard) like .DS_Store and __MacOSX. This files are copied by the Wisard on the server too. Maybe have to look to http://www.sopht.jp/cleanarchiver/ or similar (perhaps the zip util from darwin Ports).
- On first install SkinGraft reconise the default templates from the fresh MODx install but not the default Folders -> /templates/default & /templates/modxhost But, after i correst this manualy this was OK
- I cant’ install any templates from http://loripsum.co.uk/ il always have the followed error :

Error : PCLZIP_ERR_READ_OPEN_FAIL (-2) : Zip file ’/var/www/htdocs/assets/modules/skingraft/tmp/template.sg.zip’ already open

In this case, i am not sure than is not related to my server config (authorisation or php zip module) il will check this further.

Anyway it’s a great job ! Bravo a future "core module" in my mind ;-)

This has been killing me for so long and I if I had a nickel for every time I was asked "What is .DS_Store for and can I delete it?" I would have enough to support this entire community for a lifetime and a half.

that PCLZIP error is strange. This particular error is generated when the file you are pointing to is not being identified as an archive. For some reason, your server is not seeing zips as zip archives.

Skingraft tells me "This is not a SkinGraft Pakage!" whenever I try to install any skin package. Even the bundled package. I’m using Skingraft version 1.0.1 and modx 0.95.
How can I debug this further?
Can it be related to the fact that modx is installed in a subdirectory under the server root?

I can’t remember the line number right now, but comment out the part that checks to see if it is "application/zip"

Not all browsers and servers recognize zip files the same way.

AFAICT that part is commented out already in version 1.0.1.

Also note that it is not complaining about anything regarding zip files as other people has experienced.
For some reason SkinGraft doesn’t recognize the skin.php file in the archive I think. At least it tells me
an archive is supposed to contain a skin.php file, and the archives I try to install indeed contain a skin.php file.
As mentioned even the bundled skin archive fails to install.
Isn’t there something I can do to discover why it fails?

I got the Andreas01.sg.zip archive froms Susan’s site to work.
I’ll see if I can find out why the bundled package among others fails to install and post here
if I discover anything useful.

is it ACTUALLY unzipping the file?  when you run the module, can you see the zip file and the template folder in the "/modules/skingraft/temp" folder?
If it is not able to unzip it it might get that error, and that might be related to permissions on the folder.  0777 it to be sure.
of course, it could be a cache thing to, clear the cache on your browser and then on MODx just to be double sure.

Most of the archives I tried lately have been working well. Maybe I have been unlucky and got some broken archives or God knows what.
Anyway it seems to be working with the files from Susan’s site.

Another question.
Is it normal having to add the chunks supplied by an archive manually?
Skingraft usually warns me that I have to add the chunks for the skin to be working.

Skingraft usually warns me that I have to add the chunks for the skin to be working.

SkinGraft can now install chunks and TVs IF the template was packaged correctly to install them, otherwise you would need to install them manually.
