[PLUGIN] SEO Strict URLs

I take it you don’t have a BASE tag in your template to keep the virtual directory location from determining the relative starting point of URLs on templates that are rendered in these virtual directories. I think the plugin is unnecessary with that addition to your template( s ).

I personally leverage the BASE HREF tag, along with this plugin. (Have not tested the above code snippet though) However, I do not understand how the BASE tag should discourage the use of this plugin, as it does things like enforce "/" instead of "/my_start_page.html", etc...along with proper http response codes, etc.

Without the plugin, navigating to "/" or "/index.html" would both return 200, and appear as separate.

I meant the changes he made to the plugin pixelchutes; I thought it was an additional plugin when I first skimmed the topic...

Ahh, makes sense. Also took me looking at the original plugin/plus sir’s comments to see where the change was implemented.

So is there an updated latest-greatest all stuff compiled into one plugin?

Well, I know that I’ve been working w/ ApoXX (providing feedback/recommendations/etc) and he’s been actively keeping the initial plugin code updated. NOTE that the version has not changed any since, but he didn’t make it a priority at this early stage. Also, I’m not sure the original author has commented, either?

All I know is that I love this plugin, and am using it in over 8 production, and 1 personal site. Coupled with Google XML Sitemap generator snippet, and even your XML Sitemap URLs are SEO-Strict. Gotta love it.

I’ve made an update which improves link rewriting for sites which lie in sub-directories and prevents unwanted rewriting of external links.

What do you guys want to see in future releases? I’m going to look into writing or using a dedicated link/URL rewriter for possible efficiency gains.

For the future? Honestly I think this is important enough to make sure it’s integrated at the core of MODx. Anything you need to make that easier?

How would one go about staging something for a potential core release?

I guess submitting this into the bug tracker is the way to go
BTW, I second integrating this into MODx, it’s a great addition (especially for a SEO CMS ) !
