Probably a good idea, but I’m honestly not sure how easy or possible that will be. Perhaps just truncating the sessions table could do it. The problem is now, since cookies actually work with the sessions, the sessions can actually last for a long period of time, and killing them would lose other preferences as well. I think it should also trigger the site to go into offline mode...until completed (or at least as an option).

Truncating session table and flagging "offline" does sound like a good idea. Should someone abort mid-upgrade, there site would still be Offline, and it might make most sense to manually be turned back online once A) Install folder is removed B) Configuration post-upgrade is Saved or C) Upgrade completes, with possible option to automatically turn back On

How/Where would I go about submitting modifications such as this? Is there a formal process, such us: .diff file requirements, Rev. # references, etc?

Do it in 095dev. Jason will just be persnickety and reject them if they’re not up to snuff.
