The key to getting a good response to questions on the forum is to clearly communicate the specific problem at hand, not just give a vague idea of what you want to do. This includes describing your environment; PHP and MySQL versions, etc. It’s hard to give advice or help when the question isn’t clear, or server configuration issues that can effect the situation aren’t known.

Also keep in mind that if you’re trying to develop a custom add-on that this is not a forum for teaching PHP or sql or whichever javascript library you may be using. We’re pretty good about it (thank goodness, as I often need a bit of help with more complex sql queries), but don’t expect somebody on the forums to write your code for you - not meaning you, netbox, specifically; this is a general observation.

Thanks Susan, I catch your drift!

I need to implement the simplest of Polls on a site (which is live already, so I’m getting grilled from the side).

I’m running Evo 1.0.4 - it is the customers’ hosting environment, so I don’t have access to it directly. It is however a Windows IIS setup, which makes it less ideal for me.

I am a designer, and have no interest in learning PHP, although I am fully versed in HTML/CSS. I can follow instructions pretty well in setting up anything that may seem technical.

I’m investigating non-invasive free polling solutions. I have to get it working today!

Does MODx have a working solution for Survey Polling?

      Thank you for your attention.

            Newbie here,

I feel I have a go at everything lately, I needed a CMS prog that will just do what it says on the tin, to coin a phrase.
I want a CMS that will be easy for the client just to add some images and update some text,

            I liked CMS to Html
            Concrete
            cmsmade simple
            droople

but.. I couldnt get any of them to just do what I wanted, error on installs, errors on links, file permissions, uploading image file problems,
all of them promised but few delivered,

            so Im here. ...
and does this thing like flash files...

Im in a grouchy mood today >:(

            wink

This "thing" doesn’t care what you put on your pages, javascript, flash, whatever.

I’ve been using Joomla for a long time and I know it up and down BUT it has many limitations. As a web designer and would say it’s too RIGID. I was looking for an alternative and I ran into Expression Engine that is really nice BUT it is not free. In my quest I found the article: Top 12 Free Content Management Systems, http://spyrestudios.com/free-content-management-systems/, and there was MODx. Why I choose MODx? It is EXTREMELY flexible and the sky is the limit of what you can do with it. Thanks MODx for such a nice product. grin

Before getting hold of MODx, I was in a Wordpress world.

We used Joomla but were looking for greater functionality.
