Sure! I’ll go file a ticket and list specifics.
I'm learning more about MODx all the time and loving it.

Any progress on letting people hide Manager Top Menu items and hiding the Resources, Elements, and/or Files tabs?

This would be a lot easier than messing with permissions, IMO, and would solve some of the simpler permission problems quickly and easily (e.g. hiding all snippets from certain user groups).

Top Menu items will need to be done by permissions. Otherwise someone could just figure out the URL and load the page.

If it’s not in SVN, then it hasnt been done. If it hasnt been done, you could volunteer to do it. Otherwise, I dont see a JIRA ticket for this anywhere.

Good point. Would it work to have a set of permissions with a menu_ (or action_) prefix (one for each menu item)?

Sorry, -- didn’t meant to sound demanding or unappreciative. I thought I had read that this was in the works and there have been several questions about it in the forums.

No, this will be done via ACLs; IOW, there is a table (access_menus) that will represent the ACL for objects of the modMenu class, which extends the modAccessibleObject class. The core permissions-load, save, and remove-will automatically apply, and additional permissions will be defined in Policies designed specifically for modMenu objects as needed.

If I’m understanding you, this isn’t possible at present?

I believe it just needs a UI and some processors to be designed. Might also need the findPolicy() and/or checkPolicy() methods overridden (not sure off-hand if the default implementations will work).

I put this in Jira. A "Top Menu" tab in Update User Group coupled with a standard "Menu" policy would be great if that makes sense. Folding in hiding the Resource, Element, and Files tabs would be cool too if it’s possible.

                    I think it does.

I think this needs to be handled by the Context Policy permissions.

I thought it might be possible in Form Customization. I’ll add it to Jira as well.
