Anything in your apache error log when you get the white screen?
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

That thread is not about cache directory being writable only; I was referring to the parts about PDO mysql driver not being enabled.

Also, with latest SVN versions, look in core/cache/logs/install.config.<UTCtimestamp> to see if any errors were recorded during installation (or core/cache/<MODX_CONFIG_KEY>/logs/install.<MODX_CONFIG_KEY>.<UTCtimestamp> if MODX_CONFIG_KEY is changed from the value ’config’).

as to my knowledge, the pdo mysql driver is enabled - I’m using MAMP and PHP5 - this what I see in phpinfo:

          PDO support enabled
PDO drivers sqlite2, sqlite, pgsql, mysql

This may seem obvious but you have done a build here I take it, i.e from the command line done a ’php transport.core.php’ or through the browser like ’http://localhost/<path to revo>/_build/transport_core.php’. If so do you get any errors here.

Actually that’s not obvious and no I didn’t do that. I just ran it from the browser and it reported the following:

Still have blank screens for manager and front end however.

Maybe I’m missing something in the install steps. When was I supposed to have done a build?

                  SUCCESS!

After doing the build as outlined above (I visited http://localhost/<path to revo>/_build/transport.core.php in my browser note that file name is corrected from what was said above.) then I re-ran the installation script and things are running nicely now.

Somehow I missed the instruction that I needed to do that build first. Hopefully this will all be much simpler when things are out of beta.

                  Thanks for all your help!

Glad its sorted. Note that if you are going to update from svn regularly now watch out for comment entries in the log containing
                    [REBUILD/UPGRADE REQUIRED]
. If you see one of these in an update you’ll have to run the build script again and re-install in upgrade mode.

I too am running into issues trying to install latest Revo from SVN on OS X/MAMP...

                      it appears that  MODX_CORE_PATH . ’xpdo/’ is missing...so transport.core.php is failing...

Warning:  require_once(/Users/mbreid/Sites/modx/revolution/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /Users/mbreid/Sites/modx/revolution/_build/transport.core.php on line 29

Sure enough, core/xpdo/ does not exist in my export...

                      UPDATE:

In reviewing my local SVN copy, core/xpdo surely did exist, apparently something happened during the Export from Versions.app. Another Forced-export still did not export the xpdo directory, oddly enough. I was able to solve this by manually exporting core/xpdo into the already exported /core. Weird!
