I downloaded the latest version via SVN, and I’ve searched for ages trying to figure this out. I’ve increased my php memory to 64 mb in php.ini but still no success. My php error log shows:

modContext::include(/Users/LolaMac2/Sites/netbeans/test/modx/core/cache/web/context.cache.php) [<a href=’function.modContext-include’>function.modContext-include</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /Users/LolaMac2/Sites/netbeans/test/modx/core/model/modx/modcontext.class.php on line 49

Can anyone give me advice. The directory listed above is writeable, (in fact every directory is writeable), so why does it not exist. I assume it should be created when the installation script runs but it obviously does not.

With MAMP, doesn’t the site have to be in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/ ?

You have to create content before anything will work on the front-end. You need to first log in to the manager.

If you could post the server information, what version of MAMP, what PHP+MySQL version, what version of MacOSX, that would help.

Also, if you could post an SS of a Terminal "ls -alG" of the core/ directory by going to MacOSX’s terminal, cd’ing to your core/ directory, and then typing:

            ls -alG

            That would help as well.

I’m having exactly the same issue - unable to install the latest SVN using MAMP

Did you get any error’s during the install? You should have progressed to the last install page which invites you to log in to the manager without incident, can you log in at this point? I update to the latest svn most day’s on my windows/linux boxes and have not seen this, sounds as though it may be Mac/MAMP specific.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

Sorry about the delay in my response. Life intervened.

Anyway, the directory path is correct, I have my mamp apache server pointing to my sites folder as it’s home folder. so that’s not the problem

I get no errors on install.

I cannot access the manager either. trying to access the front end or the manager gives a blank screen.

                      doesn’t work for me

core/cache is writable - still just getting a white screen
