In almost every case, the problem in getting a blank page is that modx Revolution requires more than 8MB to run the installer. In your php.ini file you should set the memory limit to 16mb and it should run fine. 8MB is the default for PHP installs and therefore is rarely changed.
Here is the note from the
Development and Testing Notes:
NOTE: The actual install process requires more than the default 8M of memory allocated to PHP in many default php.ini files; if you get a blank page when you click "install", try increasing the memory_limit configuration to 32M or more (16M may work, but why not give php a little space, eh?).

that’s because there is no template or content by default.
But probably, if you go to http://yourexample/manager
you can get to the manager control panel.

@jorgerpo It is true that there is no template or default data but the fact is that upon install success you get a success screen and are redirected to the manager login on completion.
If you are not getting the install success screen, you have not completed install.

For the short term yes, there will be problems. Many shared environments do have the ability to mod php.ini locally though most new CPanel servers and allow increase of Memory Limits. There should be some optimizations done to try to decrease the server load of the install so it may more easily be installed on a default config. For now most people are deploying on development servers or local and have access to modify the memory limits.

I don’t think that’s the issue.
According to phpinfo:
memory_limit 64M
Any other thoughts?
running PHP Version 4.4.9

It could be a bad download/upload. But there are other threads on similar probs. I’m no expert so I’d keep looking and I am sure someone will post an answer.
Cheers,
Jay
BTW. My first instinct is always to reupload if at first it won’t install.
