problems moving site local to server

Hi,

Having a bit of a problem with my first modx site.

I’ve moved anything to the new server as per the instructions and even managed to run the setup again, which seemed to go through ok.
I noticed one message, "tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors" when I untarred the site on the server.

The manager sometimes says this
Fatal error: Call to undefined function getaction() in /home/bmaikido/bluemountainsaikido/manager/controllers/default/welcome.php on line 49

and other pages just give the header and doesn’t render under that, script like clear cache won’t run, though I’ve manually deleted the cache.

On the actual site, it works, but no TV’s are showing.


Really running out of ideas to fix this, what else can I do?

What Version of MODX?

It’s 2.0.8-pl

One possibility is that one or more files was corrupted during the transfer or extraction.

Uploading a tar.gz got that error and ended the same way twice. I then tried just FTPing the site and got the same result.

The only thing I can think to try now, is to do a fresh install on the server and then try updating the DB and assets. Hopefully that would work?

You could try the .zip file.

Zip file still the same.

I did try a new install, and got the TV’s showing on the homepage, but no other pages showing and couldn’t get past manager login.


There must be a file or setting somewhere doing this. I thought maybe something in the DB, but I could see the TV’s on the fresh install, despite stuffing up the pages.

It sounds like a file or directory permissions problem.

Note that if suPHP or suExec are involved, the permissions need to be 755 for folders and 644 for files.

File ownership could also be an issue.

It could also be a server configuration problem at dreamhost.

Just found this in the error.log.
There is no /processors is there?

Will check permissions too.

You did run Setup at the new site, right?

The processors directory should be under core/model/modx/

Check the processors path in core/config/config.inc.php
