Fatal error: Class 'PDO' not found... What?

    I’ve contacted my host and gave them the requirements all the good stuff, the responds I got was: We have found that the PDO is enabled in server. The server is equipped with required resources. Could you please confirm the issue with your development/coding team and let us know their suggestion on the issue.

    I did provide them on the lines of the code on the modx.class.php around 365 which is:

    parent :: __construct(
$database_type . ':host=' . $database_server . ';dbname=' . trim($dbase,'`') . ';charset=' . $database_connection_charset,
$database_user,
$database_password,
$options,
array (
PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE => PDO::ERRMODE_SILENT,

)


    Is there permission on this file that might not be getting set? Any and all suggestions/help are welcome.

      Giving a bump for any suggestions or help to tell my host?

      Also I just tried to install the basic Modx to give that a try and comes up with the same issue. It does seem to be a possible host issue, any one can give me any suggestions on what to ask them to check or look at other than the requirements pages that I have already sent to them?

        Are they running eAccelerator or similar? Sometimes that causes issues...

          Thanks for the reply Everett, I’m not sure that isn’t listed on anything they give you, but I’ll post it in my ticket see what they say.

            Man, I’d recommend changing hosts. I know people don’t like to hear that, but an incompatible host can cause sooooo much trouble. It only takes about an hour to transfer a site, and my guess is that you’ve spent a lot more time on this already.

              Again thanks for the thoughts they have confirmed they have eAccelerator on/enabled. I have been really considering moving to a new host.

                Any new solutions to this? I gave up on ModX months ago because I could not solve this problem. I figured it would be fixed by now in 2.07.

                No error messages during setup
                set up a basic home page and template per instructions
                Home page shows "Fatal error: Class ’PDO’ not found in /home/mysite/public_html/core/model/modx/modx.class.php on line 365

                PHP Version 5.3.5 (tried 5.2.16 and same error)
                ’--enable-pdo=shared’
                ’--with-pdo-mysql=shared’
                ’--with-pdo-sqlite=shared,/usr’

                any help is appreciated. I may ask my host. I know they have ModX users.
                mysql 5.0.91
                Apache/2.2.17

                  Do they have MODx Revo users? If others have been able to install and run Revo on this server, then it’s not a problem with Revo, but a problem with your configuration somehow.

                  Not all servers have the req’d PHP modules, so I’d recommend Bluehost for automatic installation here.

                    It requires a change in the master php.ini file and a server restart, so there’s really nothing MODx can do about it. Definitely check with your host.

                    +1 on the Bluehost recommendation.

                      Others on the host are running Revolution without any problems, but they are advanced programmers. I’m just a newbie with basic programming skills trying to learn ModX. Since Modx only runs without any php.ini file in public_html, I will leave it like that for now.
